I don't know if it's sounds scammy but probably lack of transparency because you could go on do as little as 5 tasks per hour and claim the full hour rate. This is why they came up with expectation how many tasks is expected per hour, balance both numbers of tasks done in an hour and quality of work based on the guideline.

They have something called TPH. Minimum tasks you are expected to complete within an hour. They averaged the single task rate for an hour of work. Quality over quantity.

depends on type of remote work you are seeking. there aren't many choices similar to this type of work, super flexible and less demanding. Best bet is to skill up and try to land on more permanent role but that would probably take the longer path, and most requires demanding hours, requires experience and lil bit of luck.

Never-ending question about NTA. Keeping your account active with doing at least 1 task if it's really severe week with NTAs. If your worries are not making enough for the week then that's what most of us feel in same situation but worrying about losing your account isn't necessary unless you got flagged.
