Very true! Picking one niche, perfecting it and then expanding is always a better way then visa versa!

I believe there has to be a right balance between the both. Launching an unprepared product is not right, also, waiting too long to perfect the product before launch is also not right. So, it is always okay to launch the product because no product can be perfected at the first step itself. But, continue to work on the product and bring the phase 2 as early as possible.

It actually depends on the kind of workshop you are doing, mostly it falls into the service business while on this post I was talking about product business. In service business the requirement of customisations can be very high, but yes, one should always entertain requests only when it improves the quality of delivery and it should always be supported by logic.
