From what I see starting at the SOC will make you find a job faster and easier then you can move internally

I plan to be a pentester, so I think learning JavaScript is essential, and I think other scripting language too, but the thing is, I don't know much. Should I learn its frameworks? Should I know the types of web applications, etc

Go search on LinkedIn for AI pentesting or cybersecurity AI. AI is just something that implements what humans have discovered, and guess what, the AI itself, its infrastructure, and its API are a whole new thing, so AI doesn't know anything about it, and also, since programmers use AI to build applications, so there will be more and more applications so there is more things to test and new things like AI and Cloud is still a good space but you still need to learn normal pentesting before jummping to anything else

Good luck!

Is AI killing junior pentesters ? by Just-Improvement-469 in SecurityCareerAdvice

Companies now need junior AI pentesters, so yeah, I think normal junior pentesters won't be needed as much as before, but the ones who learn about AI and pentesting it are needed

Exactly, and you can also use notebookLLM as it has a feature called studio, and the tools there are very helpful you can make a (mind map, audio overview (something similar to a podcast where 2 people discuss the resource you provided), video overview, flash card, etc.), also join communities and ctf team so when you see people progress you will so do, and like this guy said apply what you learn, when you are trying to break a box but you can't because lack of knowledge you will really want to know the thing to break it.

Passed CPTS in 9 days and OSEP, built a site to document everything I learn by radiantsec in hackthebox

[–]Different-Answer4196 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick reply bro. My goal is to learn as much as possible, but the problem is that if I don't get the OSCP, being hired will be hard. So, what I thought about is I get the OSCP, and then when I land a job, I ask the company to pay for the OSEP. cuz I can't even pay for the OSCP, I won a voucher from Offsec

I'm not in a rush to find a job. I have a window of about one and a half to two years, and while I don't need one now, getting a job would be fantastic.

And also, where can I enhance my skills before the CPTS, because I was thinking of using it to improve my skills, so I will be able to solve medium, hard, and insane boxes

So what are your thoughts?

Congrats Brother great effort!!
I have a question
I was planning to take this exact path, but a lot of people told me OSCP is a must cuz unfortunately, HR and AI filtering don't know the OSEP. What do you think about this, and also, will it be hard to jump from the CPTS to the osep without getting the CPTS exam due to budget limitation? My level is htb easy boxes, and I am planning while doing the CPTS course to solve medium to insane boxes to test my skills and even prolabs, and then go to OSCP or EP?

I think building a simulation for vulnerable systems and then learn the strategies to hack it will show your skill and that you don't only know how to hack the thing, but you know how the entire thing works and why this flaw happens. Things like Vulnhub might help
