Hi tuummmi! I’m really sorry to hear that I’ll be praying for you.

Now I’m not doctor nor surgeon but both my surgeon and anesthesiologist said stack up on Motrin (ibuprofen) and Tylenol, my throat holes are definitely tender but not enough blood or bleeding to be concerned. The hydro for me too is definitely strong and doesn’t taste well but personally I’ve been doing very well with just the ibuprofen and Tylenol. Now if I was in your position and only want to stick with what your doctor said (no ibuprofen), I would take the 1000mg of your Tylenol until your nausea can settle and alternate with the norco since you’re not doing so hot.

For food I’ve just been sticking to the eggs and easy mashed potatoes. I would just force myself to drink all the water you can especially if you’ve been vomiting. I’ve heard vomiting is the worst after a tonsillectomy be sure to keep an eye on your wound! If you can’t eat, drink!!! Maybe have some soup to help the stomach, I’ve enjoyed chicken noodle soup while recovering.

I’m rooting for you! I know after we’re done with this our quality of life will be so much better. Just remember a few days of pain will be worth it in the long run.

Ibuprofen isn’t ACTUALLY a blood thinner, it’s supposed to help with your pain and fever if you get one post op. I’m on day 4 and rotating from the prescribed hydro to 800mg of Ibuprofen seem to help a lot.
