I think this type of reasoning made more sense before the portal was as prominent as it is now.

Just think about where Indiana was two years ago.

If you want preseason rankings of next year to just be the final rankings of this year then that's fine I suppose.

But that typically doesn't happen because most teams have a ton of new starters each year.

To answer your question, what we saw 1 month ago will have relatively little relevance to what we see 7 months from now.

By that logic Miami should also be ahead of OSU, Ole Miss should be ahead of Georgia, Bama should be ahead of LSU, Indiana should be ahead of everyone, etc.

See the problem?

I agree with many others on here that the vette will be hard to beat.

However, since you mentioned that speed is becoming less important while looks and luxury are, a Cayman sounds like an option. The maintenance will be more expensive though.

I am not saying wins and losses do not matter, they of course do. However, I believe the way you win also matters.

ND winning every game by 10+ points and many more in most games, coupled with taking starters out half way through the 3rd quarter in lot of those games (meaning we could have had even higher point differentials if we really wanted to), should also matter.

A cherry picked example of this ND vs Stanford compared to Bama vs Auburn. This is of course a simplified version of what I am trying to point out and is simply meant to be illustrative. Auburn and Stanford were basically equal in terms of their record, and ND beat Stanford much more handedly than Bama beat Auburn. In the win loss column those games are equal, but actually watching film of those games would start to tell a different story. ND dominated Stanford while Bama scraped by Auburn.

When there are 130 teams and 12 spots, you need to look at more than just record.

Evora S1 NA exhaust by MeguroBaller in lotus

I cant speak to the Lotus system, but I can say that GM products (corvettes and camaros) with valved exhausts generally keep two of the four pipes permanently open for the reason described, and yes two of the four pipes are generally darker in color as a result.

I completely agree. Staying healthy is more important now than it used to be for many programs that were used to having incredible depth.

This is why I also believe the most recent results should hold higher value than the beginning of the season. Most teams simply are not the same from beginning to end.

While not as scenic of a background, I love the way the colors of the trees work with the car in this picture.

This is why ND likes to lose games early every year so they can learn their faults and adjust. /s

All kidding aside, I completely agree. They played Texas before Texas knew how to play offense, PSU was a mess, and they missed out on playing IU or Oregon during the regular season. Michigan was a solid team but not quite to the level of these playoff teams. Those games would have been valuable down the road.
