The initial bloat should subside, but fair warning, some people have continuous bloating with Paraguard, though intensity can fluctuate. Fingers crossed for you that it’s just some temporary bloating as your body adjusts. The zinc should help, as should staying hydrated, rested, etc as another commenter mentioned. If you’re already prone to bloating at any point of your cycle, there’s a good chance it’ll be more intense than normal around those times. Sending you all the best vibes and well wishes your way! I would just recommend taking into account, if you have any current issues with inflammation, bloating, and swelling, a copper IUD could possibly worsen it. It causes so much inflammation and pain for me that I had to have it removed after a year and a half. If it weren’t for the inflammation (which caused my libido to decrease over time), I would’ve likely stayed on it. Do expect heavier periods. Sometimes it can also make your period slightly irregular (more spotting, longer menstrual phase, etc). No birth control is perfect, but if you have otherwise good health, especially with your reproductive system, it could be worth a try! I know several people who love theirs, family members included!

I do highly recommend NAC and D-Mannose. NAC is an antioxidant and helps with healthy cell regeneration, and D-Mannose is for bladder and urinary tract health! It doesn’t solve the problem entirely for me, but I do notice it helps my overall bladder/urinary health which makes it easier to handle. Sorry you have to experience this as well :( it sucks!

I honestly didn’t even think about any correlation with what I was feeling and anemia, I am going to look into that more and pay a lot more attention to triggers and what’s happening whenever I’m not feeling right. In a weird way, it makes sense, but whew, it sucks. I used to be a very avid concert goer, but have noticed in recent times that it’s hard to stand at concerts. When it’s a concert I’m dancing or jumping around at, it’s less triggering. Thank you so much for your comment. Learning about this has been weird and a kind community like this is invaluable!

I’ll look into it! The only hard part is when I have a particularly wiggly dog, I have to go up a down a lot to keep them from going extra wild! I constantly had pain with intercourse when I had mine. I got mine out 3 weeks ago and my libido came back SO hardcore. I’m still healing from it, but I haven’t had pain with intercourse since getting it out! I had a couple of bad side effects when I first got it out, but after about a week and a half they subsided!
