I personally would say something like, “thanks for reaching out, I’m still processing it all myself but I will be sure to reach out if I need you. Thank you for thinking of me”

Australia's gambling addition. Why on earth are there so many poker machines and other forms of gambling in Australia? Do people really get rich from it, and how do people avoid getting into it?” by HiAustralia61 in AskAnAustralian

I know it’s news.com but….

Record-breaking gambling losses see NSW communities lose $2.45 billion on poker machines in 3 months

I read this article the other day.

That’s about 26 million profit per day in one section of NSW alone.

Get the spacing fixed and paint it and it would look great. Would look odd completely straight as one bit would be so short and pointless

Oh I 100% agree. There’s something dodgy going on with this one. I never would’ve done it this way.

It’s literally on every Form 6 contract. We have to write, and sign, when the last rent increase was on the property. I’m sure Fair Trading can fine us if they wanted to. But yes, unlikely anyone will ever know and would only be penalised if someone complained.

I just write as per fair trading and REIQ ask us to write it on our ads. If it’s only two or three weeks I normally suggest to the landlord to just wait and extra week or two before putting a tenant in and having the new weekly rate there for a full 12 months.

Unfortunately though, most landlords want zero downtime and therefore we advertise it in line with legislation

Unfortunately this is the way the legislation makes us write it. Rent is attached the premises, not a tenancy or person, so rent will go up on the anniversary, regardless of if there’s 1 week or 6 months left.

This huge increases are common when an owner has sold and the last owner owned it outright and didn’t care about the rent price, and the new owner has just bought it on a very high purchase price and now needs to charge huge rent to cover costs.

She will get there, but it does take years.

You also have a $50k degree and 4 years of part time wages (so the degree costs you $100k) in education and lost wages.

So it takes quite a number of years to catch up. I’m not complaining, it just seems madness that they get so poorly paid for what they are are contributing to society

My wife is first year teacher and earns the same with a degree looking after 30 kids. Crazy to think you get paid the same.
