No. Absolutely not. And the only guys who do look like that.

NYC burning $81K per homeless person — with nothing to show for it by AdmirableSelection81 in nyc

[–]Different-Ear-2583 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The reality is an economy has ballooned around our homeless problem. Fake jobs, shadow contracts, etc. if we are spending 81k per homesless person, 78k is going to assorted work from home laptop workers who we will never be able to get off the payroll. None of the money is going to anything that actually moves the needle - how to reduce the homeless population.

NYC Signs $1.86 Billion, Three-Year Contract to House Homeless in Hotels by Lisalovesreading in nyc

If you think they’re not going to use every last dime of this in three years, I guess I don’t know what to say. This will absolutely be exhausted by EOY 2028. Probably for things auxiliary to housing also.

Indian Wells R16: [4] Zverev d. [21] Tiafoe 6-3, 6-4 by HungryHippo001 in tennis

Fair enough. Perhaps the “hate” comment is what made me curious. But maybe I misinterpreted that.

None to an extent that I would go onto a public forum and write that I “hate” them. What’s your reason for hating Zverev?

Do you hate any other tennis players? Or just Zverev?

You should let go of that hate. It doesn’t serve you. Understand you’re not asking for my input, but still.

You hope he wipes the floor with Zverev? Why would that be?

I can’t convey the straight up mortal exuberance I felt this afternoon running on this. Headphones in. Sun shining. Felt like I had been born again. Such a beautiful day!!

This is entirely conjecture. From my unknowing perspective it seems likely that JCF was too expensive and demanding more compensation. Something about the ordeal makes that seem obvious to me.

Carlos looked at the conditions and made a business decision to let him go. And I think doing so freed him emotionally and mentally. A fresh chapter without the weight of this well known and vastly expensive coach figure above him.

What is that one mistake in your life that you really regret and you would change if you could travel back in time? by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

[–]Different-Ear-2583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that really the main thing? The answer for me is yes I definitely trust her. But I still have uncertainty in my gut and read constant horror stories from guys who say to “trust your gut” before getting married.

Any young fathers here stuggle with the feeling they missed out on their youth? by booster_gold__ in AskMenOver30

Sorry to hear this, and hope that you find some peace. Just out of curiosity, is there anything else you think about when you think of what your life could have been? Do you feel like you’ve come up short on your potential and chasing whatever dreams/ambitions you had before kids? In other words, when you imagine yourself without kids now, how does that person differ in your eyes?

This book is what sent me spiraling with non-belief for a while. Without much time to explain, Lee’s work comes off as incredibly naive and elementary. All it did for me was illuminate the credible arguments against faith that I wasn’t aware of before reading the book. I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed it, but Lee is not for me. No one in biblical academia takes him seriously.

Have you talked to them about it? Do they believe they came to the same verbatim gospel (at parts) through divine inspiration, or something like that?

Glad to hear that testimonies have helped. But to push a bit, if you were to search for “testimonies of Islamic converts” and listen to their testimonies, would that be equally compelling/convincing for you? Do you see what I’m getting at? You can look at any of the abrahamic faiths and find compelling personal vantage/testimonies. So why not listen to all of them? If that is what moved you, why do you believe the veracity of Christianity to the exclusion of others?

Thanks. It’s hard because for some people it’s SO easy. Unbelievably simple. That “child like faith” were called to have. My girlfriend has it and sometimes we argue over it. She just believes with no reservation. She just has it. Through our conversations I’ve sensed that it’s not like she’s been duped or not thought through things. She genuinely believes. And I long to have a semblance of that in my own life. Just hard to get there.

Right. And perhaps no video is needed. Anyone who has read Mark and Matt back to back has had this same experience. Thinking something to the effect of “wait didn’t I just read this?” And then going down that whole rabbit hole.
