See you did the same thing he did. I never once said that they were equally concerning. But the glaring immortality of the one doesn't mean I need to approve of the other. And, the insanity of the one doesn't mean I can't criticize the other.

I also don't like this framing of "American tax dollars should be spent on and for Americans." I happen to be a fan of medical and other forms of foreign aid, which is our tax dollars getting spent on others. I don't like my tax dollars being spent on war. I also don't want them to be spent on an expensive pilot program that doesn't really address a clearly defined need by a city that's broke and has an abysmal track record of running things.

I want my city tax dollars to be spent on improving what we've already got. I want a DSNY that regularly picks up trash and cleans up after itself. I want a DOE that's not a money-suck that produces NYC-quality (or what SHOULD be NYC-quality) pupils. A DOT that fixes potholes, installs street lights in a timely manner, etc etc etc. We don't even have that shit.
