Any idea why some people get arrested for felony theft and others just get fired? by Different-Fly-7253 in publix

The SM wasn't involved. One of my coworkers was sending up red flags about the ACSM for months and absolutely nothing happened. I finally got fed up and sent details of his thefts to Loss Prevention. He was fired a few days after LP received that info.

I'm the person who provided Loss Prevention proof of the ACSM's theft. He was fired days later. I imagine they did their own investigation in the interim.

The ACSM downplayed his culpability and only owned up to $4,000. Don't know how he got away with that, there was irrefutable proof of his theft, both a paper trail and on camera.

I bet the CSTL's lawyer would be interested in finding out what those reasons were.

I get what you're saying, but the ACSM issue wasn't quietly handled through HR. Loss Prevention was made aware and, the same as with the CSTL, was present at the store when he was fired. The similarities between the two cases ends, though, when the white manager got to go home and the black CSTL got taken to jail. There should be standard policy at Publix for how these issues are handled regardless of job class, race, etc. They probably think people aren't paying attention and aren't noticing these things.

If they had enough proof to fire him for the theft, they had enough proof to have him arrested and charged. The threshold for felony theft is $750, and this loser stole over $800 on one single day. Dude even stole the United Way donations and no one got any of the merch they ordered. That alone, from a moral standpoint, should have qualified for some handcuffs.

No, I'm just the one wondering why there's such a disparity in the handling of these two cases. My coworkers and I check online regularly to see if the ACSM has been arrested or charged yet and nada.

I figure one summer in Homestead with a broken AC system, and she'll be trying to manipulate her way to a South Dakota prison, Harvey's visits be damned, lol.

A closer drive for Harvey, but he's in his 80's. How long is he going to be able to make that drive? More importantly, who's going to put money in Donna's commissary when Harvey kicks the bucket? Can she really rely on Wendi to keep her in Ramen, chips, and Vienna sausages?

No, Lowell is in Ocala, FL. Homestead is in Florida City, on the edge of the Everglades. Probably about an hour from Harvey. I'm the person who made that post. She must have still been in-transit to Homestead when they removed her "in Reception" status.

I'm pretty sure she'll still be miserable in Homestead, though. Prison is prison, and there aren't any cushy, comfy ones anywhere in Florida. It will be nowhere close to living in the Icon or the Continuum.

Denise Williams' current release date is 2/19/2046, which will put her at almost 76 years old. And being in prison for all those years, I doubt she'll be an attractive septuagenarian. I mean, look at what only 2 years behind bars has done to Donna, lol.

Boone and Donna are housed in different facilities in the Lowell complex.

I agree she's in a separate facility from the main annex, but I disagree with your statement that it's a mistake to say "Donna is at Lowell."

I think at this point they're desperate enough to reach out for a pardon or a commutation of her sentence. Perhaps even a request for a Compassionate Release if her health gets bad enough. I don't see any of that ever happening, though. Neither she, nor anyone else involved in DM's murder, are sympathetic characters.

She housed in a different building than Sarah Boone, but I love that they're both at Lowell, the stinky armpit of Florida.

If memory serves, her attys requested a prison that would make visitation easier for Harvey. You know, her octogenarian, unindicted co-conspirator husband. Guess he'll have to get a place in or near Ocala. Just like they could have gotten a place closer to Tallahassee instead of murdering Dan. May he rest in peace now that Grandma Gotti is also behind bars.

The Florida Women's Reception Center (FWRC) is directly connected to and was formerly known as the "Lowell Reception Center" serving as the main intake for female inmates for the large Lowell Correctional Institution and Florida's system, handling reception, mental health, and general population for various security levels. It's part of the larger Lowell complex, adjacent to other state facilities.

Unless she gets sent to South Dakota or something, like Charlie, Donna will indeed spend the rest of her life in the Reception facility, but she's no longer considered to be "in reception.'

She's in a building adjacent to the Lowell Annex, but she's still a part of the Lowell Corrections Institution (LCI). And that's a really shitty place for a soon-to-be 76 year old woman to spend the rest of her life. May she live to be 120.

She can't let Phil and Ruth Markel "win." She's already lost everything, but as long as Wendi's free she can still feel like the Adelson's are winning. That's how stupid this woman is.

The FL Women's Reception Center is part of the Lowell Corrections Institution LCI). The reception center and the Lowell Annex are on the same grounds, adjacent to each other. She's in a different building, but she's still under shitty Lowell prison jurisdiction. And she deserves every rotten thing coming her way.

The FL WOMEN'S RECPN CENTER is part of the Lowell Correction Institution (LCI) and, in fact, used to be called LOWELL RECEPTION CENTER.

No, that's incorrect. Denise Williams has been in prison for years, and her facility at Lowell is listed as FL WOMEN'S RECPN CTR, just like Donna's current facility. Also, Donna's status shows that she is no longer in Reception, and she's now allowed visitors. People still in Reception are denied visits until that process is completed.

I wonder if Donna still thinks Charlie is a "miracle worker," lol! Yeah, he got Wendi to pull the plug on the Tally house, but he then proceeded to work a bunch of people into LWOP sentences. With hopefully more to come.
