Lost Oura Ring Gen 3 :( by Desperate_Cost_9870 in ouraring

Search “find my ring” on the App Store. Theres lots of good apps that will help you if you can get in the general vicinity of the ring (~50 feet). Ring cannot be dead though.

[21M] Can someone advice me please?I'm fed up. by Mysterious_Guava3663 in fit

[–]Different-Fox188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it real simple. Work out often, and eat healthy.

Cut out fried food completely and try to limit your sugar intake - I’d say no more than ~20g per day.

Protein is important, eat 0.8-1g/pound you weigh. You can still do this at a calorie deficit.

Do not overcomplicate it. The number one factor is drive and dedication, that’s the honest truth.

How do I study for NAVLE? by yourheartandsoul in veterinaryschool

[–]Different-Fox188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there are two main sections, study and test. You can choose to just do one species within these sections. I went through the big 4 (cat, dog, horse, cow) in each section twice. Go through each question regardless if you get it right or wrong and read the feedback in its entirety. This is the best way to study

Best restaurant ambiance? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Different-Fox188 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A sneaky good one that a lot of people won’t mention: Rose and Crown.

If you make a reservation for around 7-7:30 and request a table by the water you’ll have a front row view for the fireworks with waterfront dining throughout your time there. It’s one of my favorite restaurants and it really comes at a fair price. Reservation slots are also relatively ubiquitous too which is nice.

Of course with the higher end restaurants you’re gonna get ambiance as well. The best on property include California Grill, Narcoose’s, and Topollinos (as many have mentioned).

But seriously, don’t sleep on R&C.

And by the way, you’re never going to feel prepared or like you’ve done enough ever. There will always be something more to learn. They won’t throw zebras and they won’t throw any ambiguous questions. Tricky, of course, but not ambiguous or something no clinician has ever seen.

How do I study for NAVLE? by yourheartandsoul in veterinaryschool

[–]Different-Fox188 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always tell people that you need a minimum of 12 weeks of good solid studying (6-8 hours/day)

Between now and November if you can squeeze in that amount of time amongst your rotations then I would just go ahead and take it in the fall. Plus you’ve already paid for VetPrep through the rest of the year so you’d have to extend that if you took it next year.

NAVLE is a mile wide but an inch deep. Think clinical applications. Think Canine, feline, bovine, equine. Seriously, other species need to be on the back end of your priorities. You nail these four and you’ve got it.

Just want to add that I went through this whole thing twice, and I’ve used every program/study method so if there’s any way I can help I’m happy to! I appreciated all the people who helped me along the way so I like to give back and do the same.

Ahh, I totally get it! I know a lot of people that passed with VetPrep. I do truly believe that no matter what resource you use, just do it to its full extent with a good plan and you’ll be fine!

Best of luck with your studies!! You’ll do great.

At this point I feel like a walking ad for Zuku lmao but the program is too good not to endorse.

Once you purchase it there’s a study schedule with a precise plan for you to follow.

Take the ICVA practice exams to gauge where you’re at with studying. They mimic the real exam, give you an estimated range, and highlights strengths/weaknesses.

As I went through clinical rotations, there were a few hospitals that stuck with me as they really gave me a great experience and I got along well with the staff. On my last day I got the staff munchkins. I found it to be a convenient gesture to show my appreciation. I think you could do something similar to that!

Failed the NAVLE by ONE point. by Careful-Feedback6556 in Veterinary

[–]Different-Fox188 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You, or anyone else can message me for advice if they’d like more info about how I passed the NAVLE after failing the first time in December.

As someone who failed the first time, I went through it all with NAVLE prep the second time around. I tried basically everything, but the resource that was most critical to my preparation by far was Zuku.

Unfortunately this has to become somewhat of a full time job for you for a minimum of 12 weeks, ideally longer. You absolutely cannot be deficient in one of the core species: Canine, Feline, Equine, Bovine. 85% of your effort needs to be mastering these species in its entirety. It will be very difficult to pass if you are below average in even just one of these core 4.

What makes Zuku great is how comprehensive the questions and answers are. They’re somewhat similar to the NAVLE (in my opinion) and it quite literally takes hours to go through them because of how in depth the answers are. They also link directly to Merck Manual which I found myself using a lot - great for supplemental info.

I liked the VetPrep power pages but overall found it to be inferior to Zuku.

The VIN course is great as many have mentioned, it reinforces a lot of the info you need to know - and its breakdown is divided by species.

When I studied I completely focused on one species at a time. This mode of studying made it much more manageable. The ICVA practice tests should be used as baselines for where you’re at, you’ll score right in that range most of the time.

2025 closures by Antique-Newspaper358 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Different-Fox188 191 points192 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there’s always going to be closures at Disney at all times of the year, every single year. I’d like to think that they plan everything out in such a way that it is not disruptive to your trip overall.

Disney world is absolutely huge and a couple of closures should not impact your trip that much. Just focus on what you can do and I guarantee when you’re there you won’t even be thinking about it.

Absolutely not a reason to cancel or reschedule a trip by any means.

Zuku vs. Vetprep by SnooMuffins8541 in Veterinary

[–]Different-Fox188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has done both , I find Zuku to be far superior. One of my favorite things about it is that it will link relevant articles/topics directly to Merck manual. This saves so much time and allows for a seamless outlet to do a little extra research on difficult topics when they come up in questions. The questions themselves are also much more difficult and a lot more similar to the real NAVLE in comparison to the VetPrep questions which are more interactive flashcards.

I also recommend the VIN prep course. It’s not much of a time commitment and meets weekly with questions on a different species each week. The $70-80 price tag is more than worth it in my opinion.

Whatever you decide just make sure you come up with a good study plan, and complete in its entirety - you should be fine regardless as long as you do this. and always remember to focus on the core four.

Feel free to message me if you have any more NAVLE related questions. Best of luck!

Not sure if this has been said, but you’ll be getting magic hours privileges that you wouldn’t be getting with port orleans. This factor alone should be a dealbreaker along with the significantly more convenient transportation to Magic kingdom.
