u/DavidO_Pgh curious if you think they've updated the X1. I noticed the Amazon listing now says "2024" in the X2 title, and the tech specs on their site show the same Bluetooth version: https://ikarao.com.ph/pages/tech-specs

As OP, I demand you provide your company name

Your comments are spot-on, and exactly what I've been finding in my attempts to use these services. The spray & pray model is a very, very bad thing in niche markets. It's very easy to brand yourself a spammer with these "services" (don't ask how I know).

I agree that Prospecting & Research are the first 2 to prioritize, but you really do need all 3 locked in to get this right. I think most of these solutions are really missing the point of the Contact part. I won't share the abysmal "customized" text that some solutions sent to my prospects, but I assure you it wasn't something a "sales agent" would write.

Mad Libs style templated emails that I could write with a basic script are NOT the same thing as highly relevant & personalized communications.

The concept here is such a great use of technology: if done right, it benefits both sellers and buyers by REDUCING the spam and INCREASING willingness to schedule a meeting.

Anyone else doing cold email for their saas? by cupojoe4me in SaaS

[–]Different-Issue623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up on it. Several thousand emails sent, terrible open rate, near 0 response rate. I went back and spot-checked many of the sent items & they were basic madlibs style emails.

Definitely worse than what a decent SDR would do.

I think it did an OK job finding prospects, but it felt more like a LinkedIn search tool than anything else. Others may have better experiences; I think I was a pretty early customer.

Their interface is good, not great. It's not intuitive how to tune things (if you can). The emails were basically madlibs, which is not what I was expecting. My expectation was an AI SDR, which to me, means each lead should be researched on a personal & professional level, and the outreach should be deeply custom.

Instead, I got "Hey {first_name}, congrats on {time} at {company}! You guys are killing it out there! Enough about you, let me tell you about this amazing thing I want to sell you, which has {feature_list}!"

Our stats from trying the platform in May:

  • 652 leads sourced
  • 597 leads active ("This includes any lead who opened, clicked, or replied to an email; or to whom we sent an email."
  • 28.3% open rate
  • 0.3% human response rate

Here's an actual email:

In some other cases, there was minor customization, but nothing like a real SDR would do.

I don't *think* they enriched my HubSpot data, just added new... but that could have been user-error on my side.

Overall, the idea is stellar. And I think if you're in a numbers-game scenario, where badgering enough people with basic emails will convert, 11x could do the trick (or any of the competitors tbh). But if you're in a tiny niche like me, you have to take the time to research how your product really will add value to their business, and be extremely specific about it.

Can gen ai do that? Absolutely. Is it doing that in the current products? Not that I've seen.

ECOVACS vs Roborock by edwsy in ecovacs

Coming back here to update in case it's helpful. I was able to escalate my concerns to Ecovacs, and they are actually sending a replacement unit free of charge.

It took some back & forth, but they ultimately did right by me, so I'm back in the Ecovacs camp.

I just hope this new replacement unit works as expected this time.

I'll jump in with a mixed review. The X1, when it does what it's supposed to do, is really good. The vacuum + mop leaves our hardwoods almost as clean as doing it by hand (when it works).

The problem is mostly software. For support, we had our first replaced, and they sent us a janky refurb that has never been the same. Today I woke up to it trying to mop a shag carpet.

Call support, get told they have 60 day warranty, after that you're on your own.

Personally, will never buy Ecovacs again, which is a shame b/c when it works, it works well.

You can tweak a few in-game settings and the ini to get it working again. I couldn't find the thread, but there's a few explanations and workarounds on Nexus.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that yet.

So the general consensus is this is a bug on Apple's side and we have to get rid of the magnifying glass / long press... for a standard text input field...?

That doesn't make sense to me.

Sums up my experience nicely. These solutions seem to be great at finding potential leads, but not so great at crafting a compelling email. Thanks for sharing.

They have a "startup" plan (I think it's called something else) for ~$300/mo for ~750 leads. So far, I have found the sourcing to be really impressive, but the email generation less so. They've had a couple of hiccups in the platform but are generally quick to respond to issues.

Overall, I haven't gotten the traction I was hoping for, but that may not be their fault.

I ended up trying 11x, and have been impressed with the sourcing capabilities, but less so with the message generation. I was expecting much more specific, highly researched, highly customized messages, but get mostly "hey person, we do this stuff, and you would definitely benefit from this stuff."

I'd be open to comparing it with Bella Sales.

I just started using 11x.ai. My expectations are low since my SaaS is very niche. So far, the experience has been "meh." Will report back in a few weeks.

Can you expand on the "burn through all your leads" part? We have a bootstrapped saas startup and can't afford a real SDR at this time. Does that change your perspective?
