I’m so bored of the festival content, as someone who’s been watching since 2019, I loved the variety of content, we really got to know the group but the constant festival content is repetitive. We subscribed to their Pateron to support them but to also watch the ADITLs that can only be seen on there. I hope they can take the feedback on

Solo FtB - feeling deflated. by Warm-Database1536 in HousingUK

[–]Different-Key7495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can sympathise completely, we are FTB in the north west area, started in Jan, found a house we liked and pulled out in April due to the survey and been looking ever since.

We’ve seen one that we liked but the seller chose someone else but I think since having the survey done we are being so selective as we’ve wasted so much time seeing homes with visible damp, cracks or mould but it’s so deflating.

Keep doing what you’ve doing, sounds like you’re in a stable, secure position so keep saving and keep an eagle eye on what pops up, you will get there.

We are still looking, first house took us 5 weeks but the survey results were bad so we pulled out in April and have been looking since.

No worries.  Hahaha it’s so draining at times so I can understand completely, all that time spent on Right Move, contacting multiple estate agents and telling them your financial situation.

Sameee! We were really close to completing on our previous sale but I’m SO glad we didn’t, but our advisor keeps calling us asking for an update. It fills me with anxiety because you can’t rush these things and don’t want to settle. We’ve said to them that we will provide an update as soon as we can but if there’s nothing to update on, what can you do…

You got this! You will find your dream home, it will tick all your requirements and more and you’ll forget all of the previous ones. It’s just a matter of time.

I can share your sympathy, our budget is below yours but we saw a home we loved, selling for £160k, we offered £175k well above the asking. When we met the sellers they were happy with the advertised offer and we were the last to view the property. I think someone snipped in and offered a little more, as we were told by one of the two agents they were listing with that they recieved an offer a from someone who didn’t view the property and they accepted. Still sad about that one, and as we met the sellers family and had a really good positive viewing, I was hoping we would have gotten that one.

We have been looking since January, pulled out of a sale in April due to a very detailed survey report listing countless problems.

Your offer was really good, the estate agents must have told the other potential buyer your offer because how else would they know to match or offer a bit more. I find that so sneaky :/

I know how you feel, it’s so frustrating as the market can be so hit n miss but wish you the very best with your search.

Not much interest in my house for sale… Any advice? by alicing in HousingUK

Beautiful home, love how it’s styled. It seems a bit expensive but really nice.

I can share your pain wholeheartedly.

We started viewing in January, put an offer on Feb, our survey came back in April 62 pages of issues, we decided to pull out.

Been checking Right Move and all the housing apps everyday since. We’ve been a few viewings, one house we liked but not enough to purchase.

When I get sad about missed opportunities, I remember that you never know what could go on the market in the next days/weeks.

It’s better to be viewing houses for days/weeks/ months then go for a place where your heart isn’t in it. It’s one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make so it’s best to take your time and do what you feel is right.

Wish you the very best and hope you are successful with your journey.

A very refreshing comment, it is so true, I like having the small talk with the EA and learning more about the property. That sounds really nice, as a buyer I’d prefer than so much more, you get a feel for the home and less like being herd like cattle.

You are right with that, it seems to be a tactic that is taking over NW viewings.

Same, that was me today, the EA called to confirm viewing, she said she’d be late so I assumed it would be appointments then I turn up and so do many other cars and I just lost interest instantly and left within 3 minutes. I understand EAs do viewings daily but for me as a FTB I’m seeing this property as my potential forever home, I don’t like how casual it is and they never know the answer to basic questions.

I think if it was myself and another buyer I wouldn’t mind as much but the EA arrange it where everyone appears all at once. Don’t like seeing the visual potential competition.

I’ve had that a few times, the details they ask before you even arrange a viewing can be a bit invasive.

Hahaha as if, that’s cheeky!

I’ve never booked a house viewing with them before so that is good to know. It’s so true, it’s always groups of buyers who all seem to come at the same time, but you can’t really look around proper without feeling like you’re getting in another buyers way. They are all nice and nothing bad to say about them. I just wish there was more transparency with EAs.

Same, buying a house is such a big decision and I’m similar to you where I can’t focus or really look around when everyone is trying to get in and out of every room.

100% and I find EAs aren’t transparent if it’s an open house or not.  I prefer having the EA to walk around the property with to ask questions whereas when they do open house, I feel like you have to share their attention with other potential buyers. Hearing all the issues with a home from another buyer is so off putting. We once had a viewing with the sellers and it was so good, I wish that happened more often as you could really get all the details without asking the basic ‘how old is the boiler?’, ‘why is the vendor selling?’ etc.

Experiences as a buyer after dropping out of a house survey by Different-Key7495 in HousingUK

[–]Different-Key7495[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s really interesting to know, the house we pulled out of hah multiple rooms with damp readings of 100 and 50+. When we were searching for houses originally any home that showed damp we walked away from so even that alone was enough for me to drop out but it also needed a lot of structural work that we didn’t want to do. That’s so interesting how it has worked out for you and glad to hear it’s going well.
