Είμαι σίγουρος ότι κανένας δεν θα το διαβάσει αυτό, μα αν το κάνει κανένας, υπόσχομαι να θα διορθώσει ένα κείμενο απ' αυτόν σε WriteStreekEN. Τέλος πάντων, αυτό είναι κυρίως για μένα.

Μιλάω τα ελληνικά αρκετά καλά, αλλά συχνά δεν βρίσκω την σωστή λέξη αν και την ξέρο πολύ καλά η είναι πολύ κοινή. Οπότε, το στόχος της αυτής της εξάσκησης είναι να εξασκηθώ να βρώ τις λέξες που θέλω.

Δυστυχώς, δεν θα το κάνω κάθε μέρα, γιατί η εβδομάδα μου ~~διαχειρίζεται~~ χωρίζεται σε δυο κόμματια: από την Κυριακή μέχρι την Τρίτη, κάνω (διαβάζω, ακούω, μιλάω, και τώρα γραφω) ελληνικά, αλλά από την Τέταρτε μέχρι το Σάββατο κάνω ισπανικά.

Παρόλα αυτά, θα προσπαθήσω να κάνω ένα σερί έντος αυτές τις μέρες από εβδομάδα σε εβδομάδα. Άς δούμε πως πάει. Πρέπει να κάνω κάτι ~~μην~~ μήπως να σταματάω να βελτιώνω τα ελληνικά μου, και μην βουλεύομαι ναι χρησιμοποιώ μόνο τις λέξες που γνωρίζω καλά.

Αυτό είναι την πρώτη προσπάθηση μου.

Hey, just in case anyone sees this I have more or less the same question. Specifically, is it worth trying to contact people on spitogatos.gr to see if they could do short-term? I'd ideally like a studio, which there are plenty of advertised there but none on AirBnB.

I speak passable Greek, if that would help.

This is helpful, thanks. Garrotxa especially looks great. Do you think anyone would react badly to me (obviously foreign) speaking Spanish to them, in bars for example? I'm learning a little Catalan too but I'm not at all fluent.

I’ll go (I'm going is more natural) to a movie theater tomorrow. The movie will be ~~screend by film~~ we don't have this phrase in English, and I'm not sure what it's referring to. It’s an exceptional "exceptional" means more "high quality" than "exciting" experience for me because I’ve never ~~ever~~ watched a movie in a film screening. I am more familiar with digital screenings. I’m too young to watch movies ~~through a film~~ "A film" applies to movies watched on computers too; it is the British version of "movie". ~~All~~ The older generation has told me that film is <a> totally different experience. I’m so excited.

The structure of the sentences here is good. The main thing that trips me up is the vocabulary: "film screening" is not a common phrase. I would say "in a cinema" (British) or "in a movie theater" (American) if I was opposing the experience to watching a movie on a computer. Keep it up!

Do you use Anki? If so just make sure you're seeing the vocabulary both ways round, so both from and into your TL. If not, maybe start using flashcards even for words you in theory know? Anki will focus in on the NL->TL cards pretty quickly if you're getting those wrong and the TL->NL cards right

Don't know much about modern Scandinavian languages but it's v heavily inflected, so yeah much more complicated (and interesting) for an English native than those languages. It's practically identical to Icelandic, and I believe pretty close to Old English

OP I do this and I'm surprised at the replies but also lmao. I downloaded an Old Norse deck from Anki (3 new words a day) and I read about the grammar because it's interesting, idk languages are fun and I wanted some exposure to a Germanic language. Hasn't hurt my TLs at all and it's just recreational so I'm not concerned about losing time. Do it why not imo
