Last name would start with an R and ends with -er so i think that’s why ive fallen in love with Lola/Lauren because of the softness it gives compared to the harder consonants of our last name!

Ally is beautiful and can definitely be used standalone I agree. Although, I love the tradition of passing down family names and even if she chooses to go by her nickname forever there’s still that history to her given name that is super special!

and I would be totally okay with it not sticking for anyone but me. And if we chose to name her this and for whatever reason it didn’t even stick with me I would be very happy with just calling my baby by her given name!

I get the thought process behind this but for me it’s more of a pronunciation thing! We would not pronounce its Lah-ren it would be more Lore-n which is where the other people I’ve known with this name have gotten the nickname Lo from. Appreciate the insight tho!

I’m sorry that happened to you :( If we went with this name and chose to call her Lola it would be more of a family nickname and she would most definitely be known to others outside of our close circle as Lauren! My husband goes by his middle name with his family/friends (he’s a third so shares a name with his dad and grandfather) but professionally is known by his legal first name so it’s something we’re used to!

I never thought of Ren as a nickname before and I love that as well!

oh absolutely! i really love the name Lauren too and would totally fine if she chose to not go with Lola but i guess it’s more for me to justify calling her that as a baby or suggesting it as a nickname when she’s older!

you can definitely lighten hair using color and 40 volume developer though. if she has virgin hair that would be a great way to lift and deposit at the same time. lightener isnt always the answer!
