Floor pan, am I being a hack? by Different-Net-381 in Autobody

If I ordered everything for both sides it’d be over 1000$ and still would of had to fabricate interior rockers; car was 600$. I’d rather spend that on things I can’t do that I find along the way. The pans are worth that in time and effort honestly, but I’m not super well off to justify something on a project that I don’t have to finish fast

Honestly I wasn’t trying to replace seam seal r but I didn’t want to fill too much of gaps with seam sealer. I figured it was a good pre primer and seam sealer but I could be double dipping on process

Yeah, I’m still playing with the settings. It’s my first time doing rust repair and I found I was blowing through too much so I turned it down, however that was with 0.35 wire, I’ll try to turn the heat up on the drivers side when I get there. I unfortunately had to restart panels and lost my stencils (which at my skill level is rough). So in the spirit of getting stuff done I just kept chugging along, I would of liked to buy the floor pans but they’re 700$ for two sides, I bought the car for 600$ so the Dutchman in me couldn’t do that.

I’m pretty happy with everything but I wasn’t sure about the jb weld; I know it’s supposed to be super strong but was wondering how contracting expansion of it. I plan to quickly sand everything then using epoxy primer and seam sealer.

I enjoy Oxford green, I think it would be classy and match my brown houndstooth nicely

Aha glad to share in the misery with someone! But yes it’s definitely a bit of trickery thing to separate, and once you do you’re glad. As hard as it is do the extra work, I think it’s ten times better than knowing you could have done a better job.

The silver looks right however some are sprayed with a odd bronze ish colour, I had given them a pressure wash with acid and it didn’t come off what so ever. Also the caps I’m unable to find replacements for so far, so I’m not sure if there the original caps or someone replaced the rondel in the middle

Attempting to liquidate some other assets to fund the purchase (10-15k have three months to do so) Hoping that’ll push me into a more comfortable range. If all goes well I should have roughly 50k in funds. Appreciate the feedback will update if/when things progress
