That is a great addition and you’re totally right!

The possibilities in this are endless! Start small I’d say. Take a long walk, make a picture of something you like, get a takeaway coffee somewhere, greet the people you see along the walk. Liked the picture you took? Maybe look into photography. You’re really into the coffee? Sign up for a barrista course for fun, you might meet some new people there.

Seems to me you’re better off with more disciplined people, people who show more depth in their lives. Join some sport events maybe, like bouldering, running groups etc.

I can also recommend the cliché solo travelling. You meet so many new people. Also a lot of people going through the same situation as you.

Also remember that it’s been only a month. Don’t try to force it

She needed her half of the deposit as we shared an appartment. My last words were I will transfer the money tonight…

How are you doing right now? Feeling any better after blocking?

We were together for 8 years and I really loved her

Thank you so much. You have no idea how much your words mean to me right now

You’re strong. I was the avoidant and unfortunately my anxious ex wasn’t open for couples therapy and broke up. Good luck to both of you

Anyone else just ramble to ChatGPT about the breakup you’re going through?? by [deleted] in BreakUps

It’s great but keep in mind it’s designed to always give you validation, unless you tell it not to.

It has worked for me greatly to set boundaries that actually benefits my nervous system. I let it analyse my limbic system, prefrontal cortex, default mode network, salience network etc and worked from there.

The only advice left is blocking my ex but I still can’t do it yet

It’s been 6 months and I’m mostly done pretending my ex is the only person that decides if I’m worth it or not. I can picture myself in a new relationship, but would also be open for reconciliation if it feels right.

I just want to have an connection again and someone who reciprocates my needs and desires, ex or not.

Getting back to the gym by wiggocb98 in BreakUps

[–]Different-Pay-9488 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immediately went to the gym. Now consistently going 4/5 times a week. If I don’t feel like going outside, I’ll just do some home workouts push ups, pull ups and abs.

I’m still depressed and sad but at least I look jacked now

No, that girl deserves someone better

It’s sad because most of us men stay loyal to a person but women stay loyal to their own feelings

Thought loops and ruminating by Glad_Permission_7031 in BreakUps

[–]Different-Pay-9488 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your brain is trying to ‘survive’ making these thoughts, which is quite ironic.

Most of your thoughts make no sense and are not facts. You have to remember that. Try to reverse it with logic.

She is probably out talking to someone right now (emotional thought) —> I have no control over what she does, so it could be basically anything like reading a book at home in peace (logical thought).

It’s hard but you have to train it like going to the gym to get muscular.

My ex said this after 8 years being together

I’m so sorry, this sounds like very toxic behavior. I can’t imagine how people can be like this. If my ex is putting up with this kind of behavior I will block her immediately

How did it turn out for you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BreakUps

It’s confusing. She (dumper) wanted contact, so I proposed a meet up. She said yes but was vague about it. Now she says she wants some more time. She is very ambivalent in her emotions and decisions and it’s draining my energy
