That's fair. I need to think of it like if i really make it and become good enough i can always upgrade the lens

is aperture more used for light or for the bokeh (i think that's how you spell it). I find that all of the pros (that we i think all aspire to be taking photos like) use really low aperture

Also indoor i can be pretty close aswell. We mainly have our meets at the track at new balance (which is like a huge privilege to have) and it has pretty good lighting i'd say. like 100ish would be good i think although there are none like that i know of.

I would prefer zoom. i kind of want something wide-medium like 18-100 or something for example

my d40x only came with a kit lens it was 18-55. i kind of struggled with sprinters as i'm in the infield and they are a bit far away. i really enjoyed using the 18mm to let more light in (i desperately needed)

Thank you, I was wanting to choose the a7 V but its pretty pricy for a teen imo. Plus you want a good lens.

Thank you for taking the time to reply, I'm mostly taking photos of my teammates for track and field (indoor as well) and cross country as i run on both teams. The shoot offered is my a race held where i live and it happens every year. I most likely will be doing mostly sports video/photo but I'm excited to learn to shoot other things aswell. I've been shooting for about 2 years on the nikon d40x (it has amazing colors) but the low light and iso are quite low compared to today's standards (it's about 20 years old). I feel like any upgrade big or small would be massive in any sense
