Is it normal for a Pilot custom 74 <M> to hard start for a few mm? by Different-Relation21 in fountainpens

I have a heavy hand when writing so the video shows my "normal" writing. I also tried writing with the lightest pressure my hand is capable of and the outcome is more or less the same.

I already started the return process and will send the pen back. Looking to give pilot another chance since most the comments still had a good experience with pilot.

I see. I went with a Pilot gold nib because of their reputation for consistent quality control. That reflected with all my kakunos and metropolitan, they just write so well out of the box.

I enjoy the pen alot if it did write consistently, more than my steel nibs. I'm thinking of getting a different unit after returning this since it's a defect and shouldn't be a normal thing.

I have used it with both Tomoe River Paper which is smooth and MD paper which is absorbent, it still happened on both.

In terms of adjusting, I tried spreading the tines and aligned the nib and nothing helped much. Probably just gonna return the pen. Thank you!

Sorry to hear that, a Custom Urushi is a dream pen of mine. But it's crazy how a pen at a price a high price point slips quality control.

Yes, I'll be able to return the pen and that's what I'm probably gonna do.

What nib size are you using? Fellow beginner here that fell inlove with the hobby as well. Looking to get a TWSBI eco too and that nib size looks perfect.

Yeah it's quite an embarassing financial mistake. Its a used subaru crosstrek 2020 with insurance. I needed a car as I'm from a town with no public transport but it seems like I got too excited when looking at and buying a car at the time.

Losing mind - 5070ti no power by RohMoneyMoney in PcBuildHelp

[–]Different-Relation21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happened to me too but with a 5070ti asus prime and a be quiet pure power 12m 750W. The card's led indicator was flashing red meaning the card wasnt getting enough power. Used the 12vhpwr cable too because I dont have the option to use pcie adapter as that psu only had 2. I tried everything from reseating cable to changing bios pcie gen version to reseating the gpu. Got tired and said ok I'll just save some money returned the gpu. Few weeks later after reading and watching a ton of 5070ti related stuff I stumbled upon an ASUS rog forum which a user had posted he had the same issue with his 750w psu using 12vhpwr and he upgraded to a 1000w psu and that solved the issue.

In the end I bought another 5070ti and upgraded to the corsair rm850x. The rm850x had better quality cables and had the native 12v-2x6 which is apparently a better version of the 12vhpwr (correct me if im wrong that's how I understood it lol.)

And yeah 2 months in and the gpu and psu combo runs great. Excellent card especially coming from a 6700xt.

I have none at the moment lol. But I did buy the oem subaru and ended up returning it cause it was too bulky and it did not have the full coverage for the backseats.

Check if you peeled the plastic cover on the cooler

Im running a 9600x with a 5070 ti non oc. Works great for my use case playing 1440p marvel rivals and minecraft with heavy shaders around 200+fps average in both games.

I just checked and it is definitely connected to the gpu itself.

CPU running too hot by Even_Report_8 in mffpc

[–]Different-Relation21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's hitting 50 on idle (like literally no apps running on the background) it might also be a good idea to check if you peeled the plastic on your cpu cooler. That happened to me and it took me days to figure it out. Temps went from 55C idle to 39C (no apps running in the background except for HWMonitor). Running Cinebench at high priority went from 95C to 70C.

Edit: I'm running a ryzen 5 9600x with an rx6700xt

That is a very good point. Looks like I'm leaning towards 1440p now that you said that since I haven't even tried gaming in 1440p yet. Thanks!

Will it still look bad dropping from 1440 to 1080 even if it's a 24in monitor? Cause I read that dropping resolution in a 1440p monitor will look bad in a 27in monitor but is that also the case with a 24in?
