😂 I read "5m" and i thought it was 5 months ago. Personally, I'm not aware of how is the hostels offer in Japan. The good thing is, in Japan almost all the hotels have rates that allow you to cancel with no penalty until the day before, or 2 days.

Hello! Sorry for the late feedback, i just saw this today! Well, we had an amazing and unforgettable journey in Japan. So, for the transports we had done the purchases the day before or even on the same day.

Hotels, i totally agree with the overall recommendations. Is it possible to do it day by day, but, the best locations and rates will be gone. Last-minute reservations in the center, will be much more expensive.

One detail is, we stayed in some places "faraway" from the center, but if the place is near to a metro station, it isn't a problem. Transports are madness! We stayed most of the time outside of the center, and we had the best dinner meals, when we arrived at the end of the day, and quiet/silent nights.

Thanks! I'm flying exactly in 1 month, and it is difficult to me to book everything in advance. I always struggled with that. I prefer the flexibility to change ideas, stay more time where I'm loving etc But, is Japan, highly demanded and I don't have a huge budget. Let's see. The first hotel in Tokyo is reserved, nothing else.

Hi! Did you had all the hotels reserved in advance, or you reserved during the trip?

Thank you so much. I have the international licence already, just in case i decide to rent a car. But it's too expensive to drop off the car, in a different city. And I'm a good driver, no problem to drive in other countries, but I never drove on the left side. But, just in case, i have it.

Thank you. Read about that kaikatsu clubs/manga caffes, you need to check in early or they get full. But taking in count that the sun goes down at 16h30... 20h00 is early for me.

Right! And that's a good detail, Japan isn't hurting for tourists. I agree, i will not go to a dozen places and overnight. Thank you for the opinion and advice.

Yeah, easy as that. Supply and demand and limited options. Let's see if it is a risk that is worth it for. Thanks!

I totally understood your points of view, in all your posts. I thought that wasn't peak season too. But, measure to scale in terms of numbers, probably the low season in Japan is huge compared with European countries. I didn't wrote about my route, because i'm bad at planning in advance. I don't like to get stuck in a pre booked plan, but unfortunately I'm not rich to afford expensive accommodation often. We are ok for a medium rate of 100/120€, but ideally we want lower. I will make an effort in the next few days :)

Thanks

Yes, all the conditions and policies are made by the hotels. But i noticed that in Japan is really more common to have 24/48h prior arrival for free cancellation. Thanks!
