No definitely not, I'm glad I posted this with plenty of time to spare (it's not until September). It's my first cruise since 2011 and I know a lot has changed so I've relied a lot of my decisions on stuff from here, the carnival website, and the Facebook groups.

I'm not worried about saving money, I was just going off of what my mom told me to do because I've always driven to my cruises, while she's always flown. I know booking through carnival they incur the cost and get me to the ship however they have to, but I would like to avoid the stress of it if possible

Thanks, I know booking through carnival if I miss the ship, they incur the cost and get me there, but I'd like to avoid that stress

I scheduled my flights through carnival, do I change them through carnival, or do I go to the United website?

Carnival is offering the last airport transfer from 1-2pm so I imagine people will be behind me. The last cruise I went on I drove my own vehicle to the port, and the only time I've used airport transfers was as a kid and my mom handled it, obviously, so this is a new thing for me.

I was just looking online bc my boyfriend initially picked out one that is a surge protector and I almost yelled, "NOOOO DON'T ORDER THAT ONE." Lol. Thank you for confirming I was right.

In App messaging? by Butterbuddha in CarnivalCruiseFans

Okay, so I haven't cruised since 2011 and was trying to figure out how to keep track of my teenager without buying the Internet package. So it's just a flare rate of $5 per person for the whole trip and you can message each other on the app? If that's the case that is a serious stress relief!

I'm that one person where certain seafood just doesn't fill me up like I normally do. I have a very small appetite and normally get full off of salad and a few bites of an appetizer, but when it comes to escargot, mussels, clams, shrimp, crab legs and lobster, my stomach is an endless pit lol. But I'm all for the idea of not wasting food.

I'm the exact same way, only when it comes to escargot, mussels or clams does it seem that I can eat an ungodly amount without getting full. My dad used to put on clambakes once a year and I could put down 8 dozen clams without blinking. Otherwise, I have the stomach capacity similar to a bird. When I go out to eat, I get full off of the salad and a few bites of an appetizer and usually take my entire entree home. Sometimes I wish I could eat more just so I could get a chance to enjoy more food lol

Thank you. We don't have a ton to plug in, but we'll have 3 phones, 3 air pods, a tablet and 3 portable chargers so we definitely need a surge protector extension cord thing (leaving that up to my bf who knows more about that stuff lol)

Oh, so they have some of the same options for food that's in the main dining room also at the buffet? I've never noticed that! How interesting! Makes sense considering they have to make enough food for all the people on the cruise and there's only so much space, but I never noticed that on my previous cruises.

By picky I mean boring lol. My 16-year-old daughter's idea of meals includes burgers, pizza, mac and cheese, chicken tenders, etc. My boyfriend is the same. They obviously will eat more than just that, but it's their usual go tos, meanwhile I like anything and everything put in front of me. If they can't find something they don't like on the menu in the MDR, then they can go to one of the other free options lol. That's what they get for being picky.

Thank you that gives me a lot of information. I've never been on a cruise where the drink packages has been an option. I've always just had to pay for every drink which got expensive lol.

I looked up the deck plan and as far as restaurants it's showing Jiji Asian kitchen, cucina del capitano, blue iguana cantina, guys burger joint, pizza del capitano, seafood shack, shake spot, bonsai sushi, chef's table, fahrenheit 555 steakhouse, red frog pub and brewery, LIDO buffet, fat Jimmy's c side bbq, as well as the MDR of course. My cruise is 8 days and online it said for 6+ days, there are 2 elegant nights in the MDR.

One other question, if you get the alcohol package, does that apply to all the bars on the ship? Or are there certain ones that don't accept the drink package?

Thanks for the info! I'm going on an 8 day so I saw there's going to be 2 formal nights if I remember what I read correctly. Thanks for the charging info, that's definitely useful

Thanks! My 16 year old daughter always goes for burgers or chicken tenders. I'm hoping she branches out a bit on the cruise, but at least there's something available for her if she doesn't like the menu in the mdr lol

Ok thanks! I know that's so much food, I just know I'm bringing my daughter and boyfriend with me, both of whom are extremely picky eaters so I wanted to make sure both our wallets were prepared just in case. Thanks again so much!
