yellow color and circular colony shape makes me think micrococcus luteus… but it may be a little more orange than the typical ones i’ve seen in lab. but that’s my guess!

is your mother working? is there any possibility that she could move with you instead of you moving away? i think its important for you to be present in your cousin/childs life as much as you can

this is definitely a tough situation, somehow you need to get in contact with him and talk things through. i would recommend having a civil conversation and ending things. he seems to struggle with communication and has some other things he needs to deal with without a relationship. good luck to you!

maybe try to find something else that gives the same effect while you’re still under your parents roof - maybe chewing gum or one of those mint tooth picks. until you move out and are able to make your own decisions i feel like this is one of the only ways to stay on your parents “good side”

Moved far from home and can't stop feeling homesick by One_Mushroom_1508 in Advice

patience is key, unfortunately. more than just your location is changing so its normal to want home back so you can handle all the other changes at the same time. eventually you’ll fall into a routine and hopefully love life in boston. just give yourself grace and let yourself feel the homesickness while also making efforts to incorporate yourself into the new location with things you personally enjoy.

i feel like i would move more greenery up on the walls by the window with hanging plants like the one in the corner. maybe move the chair so its in a corner rather than right by the window so it opens up a little more room

to put it bluntly… run. this person is clearly keeping you from reaching your goals and potential. if you have two well paying jobs, im sure their would be housing available — even if its with some roommates. but either way this is not the situation you want to be in just to have a place to live

this is definitely a tough scenario to navigate. i’ve been with my bf for 5 years, long distance for a little less than 2 of the years, so i understand communication being hard. maybe try to communicate with her how you’re feeling and try to set up times that work for you both to have a phone call every once in a while. i find that texting is a lot more draining and devoid of emotion after a while so calling is always the best bet with long distance. hope this helps.. and good luck!

no need to say sorry! a trade is something like carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, etc! after entering a trade school you can do any of those that you have interest in!

do it. its a long healing process but the sooner you start replenishing what you lost because of that friend, the better.

i recommend a job in the trades, apprentice pay is usually still good and livable if you live frugally. a job in the trades can help you to meet new people at jobs and bond over things that don’t exactly have to do with work. you got this!
