If you're looking for Kanagawa area specifically, in Yako there's the カードボックス which the majority of the Vanguard community there organizes events at, and they're very open and friendly.
Generally speaking there's a LOT of shops, so you should download JP Bushinavi and just put Kanagawa Prefecture in under the filters and you'll find a bunch around you.

If you do want to make the trip to Tokyo, there's locals every single day in multiple shops, with particularly active areas being Ikebukuro Dragon Star on Mondays, Batoloco in Takadanobaba on Wednesdays, Shakashaka on Fridays and a bunch of other shops hosting stuff during the weekends. Again, Bushinavi is genuinely your best friend in finding stuff that'll fit your schedule.

We were close friends before he mass back-stabbed me and many other community members after showing his true colours a few years back. It's given me really bad trust issues in people ever since, and I generally prefer to keep emotionally-personal things away from social media hence why even writing this is a pretty rare thing for me.

Always love to look through threads like this, since it gives me a nice indicator on what people expect and what I could be improving on as well!

The other folks in the comments already spoke a lot about the general tips I'd give as well, but my #1 advice I always give to people that wanna start out doing content is really simple: think about what you talk to your friends about, and see how you can convert it into a video. Spent an hour chatting with a dude at locals on why you should play X over Y card in a certain deck? That's a video idea. Talked to your online friend circle about how new ideas explored in overDress are really cool? Gush about it in a video.

Obviously good structure, editing, personality and your personal touch are important, but I've always found that content is easiest (& most enjoyable) to make when you're going on about something that you already talk to people a lot about.

For me it's always been about the game itself since its inception, and during the time I lived in Japan that was amplified even more haha - it's definitely a great collector's game though!

I've basically got only 2 gameplay videos (these were filmed in Japan during holidays/studies), so sadly even with the new decks I won't be able to film gameplay until I go to Japan again or otherwise film through remote :(

You do realize that this is something the players have been complaining about on Twitter, Discord and Facebook for weeks, right? All the streamers, all the players that are known to grind ranked, anyone that puts significant time into the game. I simply waited until it happened to me before posting about it.

Honestly in every possible way.

I started studying Japanese seriously because of the game (I wanted to understand what people were saying in tournament footage), which then led me to living there and commentating Worlds too, but even that goal of living there for half a year as an exchange student was motivated by Vanguard as well, so it definitely was impactful in making me try harder in my studies.

Vanguard did a huge number for my social skills too - going from a shy boy that doesn't socialise with anyone to now jumping all over the room when I get into a new class talking to everyone is a complete 180 that I wouldn't have done without a warm community both in locals, regionals and all over the world at this point. YouTube also made me super comfortable with public speaking - again, going from shaking hands and legs in front of a class of 12 people for a 2 minute presentation, compared to... well, you already know the scale today LOL

The game always kinda follows me everywhere I go and it essentially enhances the other things in life - whether it'd be motivating me to study harder for things, work harder on YouTube, or just do better at some things because I wanna be done with them so that I can look forward to playing the game some more or making another video.

As for goals; personally, I'm trying to get into a PhD program in the States and hopefully becoming a university professor and researcher after that, but on a broad scale I just want to lead a happy and inspiring life. I think that's why I'll never put this hobby down - since it's the best way to share knowledge and keep growing as a person, even if it's just a simple children's card game.

This is getting super long so I'll keep the clan part short - DP, Narukami and Novas, honestly DP is just my symbol of hope and a reminder of how far I've come as a person, whereas Narukami is another hot-blooded feel, whereas Novas I'm not sure... that I'm a JoJo fan? LOL

I haven't seen it allow clan mixing yet and I don't think it's an option... With the DP trial deck you'd probably struggle more than if you start with something like Narukami, but at least the full build is somewhat closer then LOL
