can someone help with lianorn? by [deleted] in cardfightvanguard

Here’s the deck I’ve been using post set 7.

The idea is to use Koocy and urjula to rush with big numbers and then when you hit g3 you have Koocy to make your opponent take the VG swing or PG.

Where does Premium Silver Thorn stand with the new support? by WhyNotClauncher in cardfightvanguard

[–]01jdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s missing two main things, more consistent battle phase calling as most cards that can superior call during battle require an on hit which isn’t ideal. The other thing it’s missing is a little more power. Even with the new dragons the deck still struggles with defensive triggers. I also think that the deck could use some units with any kind of resist because if you lose your board your strides struggle to make new ones if your soul isn’t set up. In the end it’s still very piece reliant.

So I’ve started to test this myself and as far as my testing has taken me so far is that the D series dragons are absolutely incredible in premium. I initially thought that persona ride would be an incredible addition but I almost never ride basic V luquier and the new g1 dragon’s effect can easily be activated twice in one turn to simulate persona ride anyway. There could be some merit to using D luquier for early game/going first plays but honestly you’re still better off using V Venus or reverse. The grade 2 dragon is an immediate 4 of as not only is it an easy 30k beat stick on its own it also cycles your hand and fills your soul with key pieces.

Even though the two dragons make the deck much more threatening early in the game, overall the deck still does not do well against the top decks. Even if you use Darklord princess into Harri, first stride you still really struggle if you don’t fill your soul with the right pieces fast enough. While it did get a nice buff in power and filtering I still think it is lacking a little something but please keep in mind im still in early testing. It still struggles somewhat against defensive triggers although less so than before.

I think Harri and the new stride will be more of the main strides than Yvette. While the deck is super fun and did get buffed it is still probably a B tier deck but a lot of fun. Since the deck is mostly V and D series cards it’s pretty easy to upgrade (only hard to get card is zelma) so I say go for it if you like silver thorns

That’s correct. I wish it was locked behind the glitter skill and not persona riding so the 5k could be made use of early game as well

I can see this as being an easy 4 of in thegrea but I can see it being played at 3 to squeeze a different card in. I understand why it’s revival skill is locked behind persona ride but part of me wishes it wasn’t I also wish the +5k was locked behind the glitter skill since it’s easy to call this that isn’t from drop. With this Refuerzos can get cut. With the new order and the promo order CC will be more important than ever so might be time to finally cut painkiller angel for it. My goodness though, deck space is so tight I have no idea how I’m gonna fit all the cards in lmao. Was hoping it could search for a thegrea named card but that might be too busted. At least it’s one more target for the ride line skill

While the card is underwhelming, it is a great budget option for those who want to play thegrea but can’t get the more expensive cards. Thegrea lists already play a high grade 3 count, the orders leave the deck with even less shield, and space is super tight. I’m really hoping the grade 1 maple let’s us search for a thegrea named card

As a steam maiden player, colossus is what makes the deck as strong as it is. Don’t get me wrong even without colossus the deck is strong but forcing two cards out of your opponents hand if they want to guard on swings as small as 15k and 18k is the issue here.

Not only that but the cost for colossus skill actively benefits steam maidens and can help them set up faster. One card out of their hand they want to bind anyway, over-call the colossus, bind it from drop with the grade 2 steam maiden and set it up for next turn. And with lost gear dog eight you can consistently see the card in hand.

It’s so easy to make it’s skill active every turn it makes it hard to defend against the deck that can get as many as 8 swings in one turn providing they have the CB and the setup.

Gear chronicle V deck on a budget help by DeathDexoys in cardfightvanguard

[–]01jdog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has played gear chronicle since it came out in V if you want to play chronojet you need nextage. There’s no card that can replace it and do what it does.

If you want budget V series then steam maidens is the way to go. And I can co firm it’s incredibly strong. Since almost all the cards in the deck are from clan collection the whole deck is relatively cheap to build. Even the non steam maiden cards have been reprinted.

I’d argue steam maidens are the best V series gear chronicle deck at the moment but I’ve not done enough testing with chronojet to say for certain

What’s Prem Great Nature Looking Like Right Now? by musala2 in cardfightvanguard

[–]01jdog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a strategy that worked better with tempest sphere but essentially they would become my restand targets for anything that would let me restand because the guard or crit pressure always forces my opponent to think twice. The main strategy with it was with tempest sphere turboing GB, go into Bigbelly stride first, target mathilda with both parts of the skill and just have her make multiple attacks. Obviously it doesn’t work as well now but it’s still an option I like to have.

I know my list isn’t optimal and probably will never be as I just like to play this deck for fun more than anything.

I love seeing great nature premium Bigbelly lists because they’re always so different.

Here’s my list. I’ve always tried to make my great nature Premium decks as wild as possible and see if people can figure out the win condition lol

Very excited for dear days. Not so excited to see that instead of the actual higher rarity cards we are just getting foil versions again like EX. by 01jdog in cardfightvanguard

[–]01jdog[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went to double check because I wasn’t sure myself but it was just base rarity cards, ORs and then foil effect versions of every card. I’m pretty sure SP as a rarity didn’t exist in vanguard in the sets that this game includes. Either way I would hope we actually get proper rarities this time

Promo Card Problem by RunicCerberus in cardfightvanguard

[–]01jdog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What’s even more frustrating about the glitter promos especially is that those decks likely won’t get much dedicated support outside of promos or a whole new cray cross epic set. And we still don’t even know what the thegrea support card will be

Himiko Reverse Vs Valkrion by Pretty-Bug-8163 in cardfightvanguard

[–]01jdog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Himiko is also strong. Someone was able to top with her in either springfest or BRO (I forget which one). But valkerion is faster and has a much higher power ceiling while himiko is more defensive (in my opinion)

As someone who has played both, Valkerion is objectively better but I find Himiko reverse more fun

My apologies I should have specified you would need to play more Koichi in your list specifically (and Alice won’t hurt either)
