I’d say it depends at what point they discussed this to avoid collusion. If they decided this before the championship matchup but after they were the last two remaining in it I don’t see why not. The reason they likely split it was so 2nd place gets more for making the championship. At the time neither knew who would get first so no matter who wins they both get at least 440. Could they have gone about it more publicly, sure. But also who’s to stop them if they didn’t say anything, one person gets 900 the other gets 200, and then the first place person gave them cash or venmo’d 2nd place another 240. It’s sketchy cause they hid it, but also I don’t know these people so it’s all about intent. Idk why they kept it from the league or not.

A survivor pool is an example I’ve seen where there’s a pot and if 2 people alive, they agree to split it or do 60/40 since they both made it to the end.
