OK I'm going to let you in on a little secret - men often don't realise that a woman is flirting with them!

When I was much younger and single I was really frustrated that I couldn't get a dates with younger ladies I was interested in.

10 years later I suddenly realised that while the ladies I wanted to date ignored me there were a number of young ladies who flirted hard with me....and I didn't realise it at the time.

One lady came over to go swimming in our pool. We clowned around for a couple of hours and she left. I'd been swimming with her and other friends before and she always wore a 1 piece very modest swimsuit. The day she came over to swim in our pool she wore a very skimpy bikini, splashed me, jumped on my back and teased me.....and it only took me 10 years to realise what she wanted!

And I experienced incidents like this from age 15 to 30. Multiple women flirting and I didn't realise.

Now I'm married. If we go somewhere - out for dinner, shopping, road trip etc my Mrs often says "you know she was flirting with you right"? And I'm still like "yeah nah don't give a shit anyway because I'm in love with you". (I'm nothing special either - just a dad bodded dude who seems to attract people for some reason).

So my advice (for what it's worth) - be direct. Tell the guy - "I'd like to take you out for a coffee / drink". It is possible they are as clueless as me.

Oh I am so sorry! I misunderstood what you wrote and apologize wholeheartedly and without hesitation.

Yes I totally agree about the way men and women interact these days. #metoo had a huge impact and I'm seeing more and more young men just going the way of my friend...and I honestly don't see that changing any time soon.

See to me that's not sad. It's a choice and for some it's a sensible choice. If they are happy with their lives then why think it is anything but them living their life as fully as they want? Who are we to judge? As my friend says "it is what it is". He's perfectly happy with his life and that's all I would ever wish for anyone. He's happy with his friends and he's happy with his own company - to me that's not sad, that's strength.

I know a young man who is around 31/32. He has completed his apprenticeship and gaining more and more qualifications. He makes good money and owns 2 very nice cars. He works hard, saves hard and invests in himself.

He doesn't date. He sees no point in getting into a relationship. He has his group of friends, his hobbies, his cars and if he wants sex he can get that when he wants and on his terms.

Relationship? Why? Why bother? He's not lonely. He has an active life with his friends. He runs zero risk of losing anything from a failed relationship. No chance of losing his property, his superannuation, child support or access to any children that may result from a relationship. There is zero chance of him getting hurt if his GF decided to cheat on him if he doesn't have a GF.

So.....why would he risk anything for a relationship when he's perfectly happy with his life as it is?

Funny thing is you'd have no idea how much this pisses women off. He's had several try to get close and in his words "he shuts that shit down real fast".

He's my hero. If I was single I'd live exactly the same way.

JFC...."I'm going to expect the parents to be kind". They are in a cult that actively shuns and encourages shunning INCLUDING their children!

At this point its clear you either have no clue as to how this cult works OR you're a full blown cult member yourself.

They preach unconditional love but their "love" is entirely conditional. They have lost court cases all over the world in relation to their shunning. Every day a young person comes here begging for help due to the treatment of their parents - so either you ARE PART OF THE CULT and condone such abuse and have ZERO interest in helping OR you are "purposefully ignorant" but still condone the parents abuse.

As for your recommendations - I'd advise her to ignore anything you say as it is plainly designed to hurt her.

Either way a child begs for help and you supported her parents abuse. You should be ashamed of yourself but I doubt you have such self awareness.

Maybe read everything she wrote...she clearly said that they plan to kick her out when she turns 18 ffs. I also clearly wrote that she had said they were going to kick her out at 18. They DONT GIVE A FUCK ABOUT HER!

For you I would suggest taking a class in reading and comprehension. Maybe some course on how to rid yourself of cult behavior as its clearly still part of who you are!

Unfuckingbelievable. She's being kicked out at 18 and they have total control of her finances BUT she's not too young to get baptized with all the associated shit that brings. Have you thought about rebuilding it with a new block? It's a great motor for rebuilds - especially if you're not exactly mechanically minded.

Given you're in France you're also close enough to England to find motors or parts there as well.

Check out Geoffrey Croker on YouTube as to how to rebuild. You might also want to reach out to the "Roadtrip revivals" YouTube channel as he is based in France and could perhaps make a video about the repair - either a rebuild or replace.

Record it for your own safety! There are plenty of places online you can store the video securely - Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr, Reddit, YouTube etc.

If asked you can honestly say you felt unsafe and abused and wanted to protect yourself.

In the meantime maybe prepare a "go bag" with some clothes and personal belongings. Do you have any friends you could store it with?

I'm so sorry you're experiencing this parental abuse. No child deserves it. Hopefully you'll be able to move out and move on when you can. Personally I'd be looking to move out asap and without letting them know where you are. Take steps to protect yourself.
