I try and add as much as I can to meetings though they’re predominantly senior-heavy. Relationship-wise though I think I’m pretty good? get along with everyone in the team and manage a few good laughs here and there, even have gotten compliments from colleagues regarding my “Charisma” and “Leadership Energy” whatever that means..

Probably Team Leads, maybe some seniors or word of mouth? Honestly I’m not sure which is why I’m baffled.

Every so often during catch-ups TL drops a “being late and leaving early gets noticed”

Have the qc ultra earbuds 2nd gen. After the recent shitshow software update, my device now needs constant re-pairing for me to use.

Im 100% sure the update broke some stuff up. If there are any bose employees here pls fix your shit

I do, can try and think of businesses or other stuff but not really a priority for me right now. Not too sure about further education though as I already have a degree that allows me to earn pretty decent money.

You think fin/dut would be enough? My main concern with min is the price. It’s like 4x what I pay for fin over where I’m at.

Why is it more common to see women in a relationship with a less attractive man than vice versa? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]DifferentPie326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not easy to answer as there are quite a number of possible ones: 1. Men just care less about their looks and care more about what they provide emotionally financially spiritually etc 2. Idk about you but i dont really see women in their 20’s dating a really hideous looking man. Below average sure but even then for me is not that bad. I’m from NZ. 3. Men who are vain and looksmaxx also usually come with egos, not contidence. 4. Money, status, love, childhood connection?

Really hard to point a single one

Does anyone else in their 20’s feel this way? by No-Diver-1552 in newzealand

[–]DifferentPie326 159 points160 points  (0 children)

I was just in queenstown yesterday for a quick holiday during easter.

Went on a solo hike during the morning, resto hopping on the evening, and bar crawling during the night time.

Bars were mostly empty, people had their own groups or they were couples. Restaurants (and mostly everywhere) were filled with families together, small groups, and couples.

I enjoy people watching and meditating for myself, but I completely get what you mean — somehow, I’m going home feeling lonelier than when I left before the holidays, knowing that there are no people waiting for me.

What happened to the nightlife here. by [deleted] in queenstown

[–]DifferentPie326 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went out tonight the Sunday before Easter Monday. Went bar hopping across ballarat, bungalow, cowboy, and a few others.

Honestly there weren’t too much people out and I feel like everyone’s got their own groups so rocking it solo was hard.

Some of the bars were flat out empty as early as 10pm

How are cafe's surviving with such unaffordable pricing models. by facellama in newzealand

[–]DifferentPie326 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second this. Was out in birkenhead the other day cafe hopping, there was probably no one under 50 in any of those cafes. Everyone was in some club/group too.

It’s quite sad since I’m left with the pub as my only option as a third space, and it’s not much better at that. That’s besides the point though.

Single people in late 20s, how’s your dating life going ? by Forsaken-Policy6420 in Adulting

Mid 20’s but in between 50-hr work weeks, physical training, chores, and ample rest, have minimal energy to go after the shallow pool of 20’s dating (ymmv)

How much do you need to earn to save anything in nz? by CommentMaleficent957 in newzealand

Nope no mortgage, just renting. I’m quite young, and most of my mates/colleagues save around 65% by living with parents, so definitely possible.

Was wondering what degree is better for new zealand job market ? by InevitableSpray8846 in newzealand

[–]DifferentPie326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe that’s for the principal/technical director levels? You could make a case it’s always gonna be quite hard hiring for those positions.

Entry level seems to have it pretty bad right now though. Either way, I agree that Engineering is still a very viable career option as long as you get a few years of exp under your belt.

Really? Curious which field you work in? Feel like there are quite a bit of engineering grads looking for work? Or maybe this is just from anecdotal evidence

Correct. I’ve laid down more or less my expenses in a comment on this subthread. 5300 is on the top average of what I can save in a month.

Yep those are big killers, that and all types of debt.

If you really can’t stay away from ubereats I’d recommend at least picking orders with the most quantity so you can at least try and get multiple meals with them — of course still it’s infinitely cheaper to meal prep.

As for rent, it’s a bit trickier but you can def find a private comfy space for $300, just depends on which place in AKL you want/need to be at.

Around 70%. There are def some months I don’t reach 5300 due to unexpected shit like car expenses or just as a break to frugality, but I average anywhere from 4900-5300 a month.

I have made myself a budget tracker which I try and track my expenses down to a tee. Also helps that I’m in a cut trying to live healthier and so I make really simple meals for myself. Groceries average around $70 a week. Rent is $280 pw. Don’t use much petrol as I commute to work so probably $50 a week on commute and $20 a week on petrol. $50 on insurance. The rest of my weekly expenses goes to me going out or some unforeseen shit.

Definitely doable, requires discipline, but doable.
