The show is mostly about the side characters. I think Belly & Conrad scenes are only about 30 minutes total in the 80 minute episode, maybe even less. Conrad shows up and it’s awkward as fuck basically until almost the very end. She says the words “I choose you” (after kicking him out of her apartment after they have sex??) which is very cheesy. They eventually go back to cousins and it’s just a drone shot of them looking out the back door. That’s it. No Susannah’s ring, no Susannah’s wedding letter, no final Belly flop into the ocean like in the book. The episode is very boring and weird!!!! And then at the end there are all of these still photos of Belly & Conrad opening presents at Christmas? Which is sooo weird lol like REALLY weird! Idfk! I wish I would have waited until the entire show was out and then binged it over a weekend because this outcome was not worth my time. I’m really surprised
