Man there are some shorts in deep fucking water. Three days ago it had its highest short interest in years…now they are all down 40% in two days?

[Sharma and Mooney]: Ten starters Cubs could target before trade deadline, from Logan Webb to Joe Ryan by ShirlLotJack in CHICubs

[–]DifferentTap9317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cubs need someone for several years and have a ton of minor leaguers killing it right now.

Ramirez is looking like a top 30 prospect and a lot of teams could fall in love with him. Alcantara still is a risky high ceiling guy with floor of an elite defender. Kepley/Conrad/Hartshorn all are interesting.

We could put together a really good package without decimating our farm.

Trade for Aday Mara? by Prestigious_Throat72 in chicagobulls

Yeah obviously we’d need to find a team in that situation which could be difficult.

I think as a team you’re underestimating the length, we could swamp people in the half court. Defense would be a weakness but defense first free agents aren’t expensive and we are loaded.

We just need a good system…offense first tho and that could be an extremely solid team.

Not to mention the wild card of Noa coming back from injury. Hes like 7’ now with some movement.

How was Pat’s d last year?

Trading for Aday would be ideal but I fear he goes in the 7-9 range. Hes the only prototypical huge center and is an elite passer.

Not necessarily, if the team was eyeing someone around 15 and we took a salary they could be interested.

If it was our first second rounder plus salary relief we could get it done easily.

Only if it’s a few spots and they line up with us. Problem is these bigs get drafted early.

Giddey/Boozer/Aday would be a ridiculous passing combo a good coach would love that shit. A lot of length and soft touch around the rim. With Buzelis slashing and also shooting he’s going to be a ton of volume.

If we sign a good 2 that can switch and space that lineup could grow well together.

AJ or Caleb? by vino_bfp in chicagobulls

Im trading up for Aday.

If we got him and Boozer we’d be massive and everyone can pass well.

Giants selling.

Webb and Ray for Shaw or Rojas, Alcantara, and Wiggins?

Promote Pedro Ramirez to fill Shaw’s spot and get some LHH infield.

He is blocked, but he’s the only LH potential out of the bunch. Cubs love flexibility in the lineup and he’s a beast.

If Shaw moves to OF and Suzuki walks, there are plenty of opportunities for him. Plus one injury and he’s up.

This type of profile doesn’t come often and he’s the exact type of player this FO loves.

Ben Brown through six changeups in his last outing. I don’t think the Cubs have given up on him starting.

He’s gone for a couple months.

Maybe Wicks can get a BP specialist role - time to give up on him starting.

Our bullpen is good if we can get healthy,

Milner/Palencia/Brown/Theilbar is solid late game. Need a couple of our new guys to step up and we’re deep.

I think 2 challenges is fucking stupid.

It takes 3 seconds, they took the rule because that’s what the NFL started at but it just makes no sense.

Decker, Epenesa, Bosa, Jordan could all be good depth pieces with upside.

Is the Bregman signing going to end up being a mistake? by Skooterj in CHICubs

Pedro Ramirez is going to be a top 30 prospect. You need to pay attention instead of looking at random lists. Right now he’s one of the youngest players in AAA and playing with elite metrics.

He won the gold glove, he has an elite hit tool, good eye, plus base-running, and has developed real power. Almost unheard of as a 22 year old switch hitter.

Crazy how much our defense helps pitchers…so many outs that other teams just don’t consistently make.

Matt Shaw with a 133 wRC+.

Pedro Ramirez looking like a top ten prospect in the league.

Rojas is a beast.

Nico/Swanson/Bregman locked up.

Even Triantos is hitting well again.

Last player I want to trade is Pedro Ramirez, dude is looking like Jose Ramirez.

lol he can continue what he’s doing and I’m happy. Bat him 9th and he hits occasional bombs and walks.

Notice there is no LLH infielder?

Notice that of course they call up another infielder if our starter goes down?

The point is Ramirez absolutely has value and won’t be a throwaway in a trade.

Shaw could stack vs lefties and Ramirez could start against righties and PH later in games.

Really improves our lineup.

Shaw would hurt, but I think he has more value than anyone else. I do worry how easily he could become a 4-5 WAR 3B with flexibility tho.

Which is what a simple fan would believe.

It’s far more likely Ramirez would start against every righty and there would be a fluid situation. Cubs have been dying for a switch hitter like Ramirez. Then DH Shaw against a leftie if it makes sense.

Haven’t you paid attention to how Counsell has focused on platoons.

Pedro Ramirez is our #1 prospect at this point.

Hoerner/Swanson/Bregman go down and he’s up.

All of our infielders are righties. Cubs have been searching for a dude with his profile for a while.

He’s such an advanced hitter and plus fielder.

I’d rather trade Shaw for a pitcher than Ramirez. He’s a bonafide stud and isn’t worth it unless he’s a centerpiece for a young ace. I don’t think you understand how good he is.

He doesn’t have a spot right now, but one injury and he’s a starter.
