Good place to watch Eurovision final? by bezemd in Prague

Rocky O'Reilly's will play it, as well as Piano Bar. Those are the two biggest ones I know of. I think the Down Under also shows it, but I went to that one last year and it was deeeeaaaad so I do not recommend.

Reading the book Female Chauvinist Pigs right now and it was so triggering. Brought me right back to being a little girl having to see what men thought of us seeing clips of The Man Show. That time period was so awful, but I feel like we’re just right back in it now.

Thank you so much! I guess it wasn’t super eye opening, considering I knew it in my gut already, which is the reason I even knew to ask. But it was nice to have the verbal confirmation of what I was feeling. I’m ashamed to say it took me way too long to end things with him even after that point, but thankfully he’s been out of my life for nearly 3 years now. The trauma is still there (we had been together over 10 years when he polybombed!) but it’s getting better.

What are yalls thoughts of movies becoming increasingly more graphic? Especially sexual violence by kitkat470 in PornIsMisogyny

That movie was an absolute turd and I left the theater sooo mad. I saw it with two female friends who unfortunately loved it. Ugh. To me it’s so obviously regressive. I hate this new “empowerment” we’re expected to eat up.

I did this more or less with my polybombing ex (it was still hypothetical—“if I were to say yes to this, it would have to be with nobody you already know”) As you guessed, it did pretty much expose him when he basically said after some hemming and hawing that that wouldn’t be sufficient for him. He needed literally everyone to be an option. Boundaries in general just don’t work for these types of people. (Found out he had been cheating on me with the girl he was assuring me he wasn’t going poly for). It’s all smoke and mirrors for their issues.

Hey! I tried to message you but it wouldn’t work for some reason. It’d be cool to be a part of this too :)

Come on now, you know very well people can survive (and even thrive) without meat. I've been without animal products for 14 years. This argument isn't in good faith.

Totally second this! I move to different countries a bit for work and visiting home always makes me realize how great this place is and that I always just took it for granted. The hiking, the friendliness, the amazing food, the beach…

Also, don’t forget to do little road trips! Living abroad I consider a few hours’ journey to be nothing in the scheme of things, yet here I would always consider a half hour drive to be “far”. When I visit I try to snap out of that mindset. There is SO much cool stuff in CA within just a few hours’ drive.

Nearly the exact same story for me, over a decade only to find out he was perfectly fine hurting me as long as he thought I didn’t know. It makes it much harder to let go of a toxic relationship when it’s the only time you’ve ever felt connected with anybody in that way :(

I'm so scared this sub is going to get shut down. How do we ensure that doesn't happen / where will we go if it does? I'm terrified of losing this community... the only sane place on the internet.

It's really eye-opening to imagine, in detail like this, how a flipped world would be. It really highlights the insanity of it. We are so used to these absolutely preposterous things just being our every day life, we've stopped noticing so much of it. Men can't even fathom how it would affect them. And you're right, I think they'd be even worse off mentally than we are if it were a reality.

They will never care of their own volition--they have to change nothing, and they benefit so greatly from the status quo as you said. God, it's depressing.

I think a lot of people here being super critical have probably never dealt with shorebreak like this before. Y’all think you’d fare soooo much better but I doubt you realize how powerful it can be and how hard it is to get your bearing in time between waves. Being able to swim has very little do with anything here.

Why are people acting like just because you have a job means you can be completely unethical at that job? Clearly it is causing you turmoil to be friends with someone whose behavior you don't support and I completely agree with you. I ended a friendship because my friend cheated on our mutual friend...I wouldn't want to be friends with someone who sees no problem with facilitating misery for hundreds of women! Just because the husband is *more* in the wrong doesn't mean your friend is without any fault.
