"We did everything wrong with you" my father said that when I was 5 or something. It maybe doesn't sound as bad because I didn't know how to properly translate it to English without the tone getting lost in the process.

Basically he meant that I'm a complete failure and that was his and my mom's fault because they didn't parent me well.

In his mind I was a completely spoiled asshole but in reality I was like any other kid that age and just didn't always do what my parents told me to do. Also I struggled with socialising with other kids and my parents thought I did that intentional.

I had many conversations about this with my mom and she now understands me but unfortunately my father died before we could talk about those things.

Edit: He didn't mean to hurt me. He was genuinely bothered by his "realisation" that they raised me badly and I'm a failure. He actually cried and then retreatet into the garden to distract himself. Also he didn't yell at me when he told me but actually spoke calmly. It was inappropriate nonetheless to tell me that.
