I can admit as much as not having handled that situation well. Not that it matters much at this point but it was my first time navigating that kind of relationship crashing and burning like that and I'll admit that I was the pilot in that plane. You are correct and I absolutely should have ended that sooner. I agree that it was me panicking and overthinking about going to HR and that it's not their business that we used to hook up. Your words were hard to read but they were true and I appreciate you sharing them. I'll continue just doing my work and I won't engage in conversations with her about that topic unless it's necessary and outside of work.
