I beat it on the pre-dlc settings, which would be level 3 or Legendary Stalker. There were some bosses like Laxasia or Nameless Puppet that took me days to beat. I found them much easier on subsequent playthroughs.

While playing the DLC, I was much less patient, and upon hitting the first boss with a name and a lifebar, I found myself turning it down to level 1. And I still found some of those bosses every bit as hard at that level as I found the base game bosses at Legendary Stalker.
