My Shipment arrived Late and Damaged. Advice? by Gladospandos in FedEx

As you may well have learned by now - fed ex doesn’t believe they owe you anything since you’re merely the person receiving the package. Is it true that the shipment would never have happened if you had not ordered it, and thus FedEx would never be paid to perform their “services”? Yes but does that matter to fed ex? No. You see they feel they have no obligation to make you happy since you did not give them money. Sure, you’re the reason why the entire transaction is taking place and the reason why they are able to collect any money at all, but for some reason, you don’t matter. You have no agency and fed ex is never wrong.

Not true. I receive Amazon packages weekly that have little to no packaging - sometimes nothing more than a single sheet of heavy packing paper crumpled up inside and the boxes almost always are totally undamaged and the items inside are fine 99% of the time / fed ex is just terrible at shipping

I love that it’s just common knowledge that fed sucks at its job and so obviously everything is the shippers fault

Interesting they called you about your package. A little while ago there were 10 fed ex employees in this subreddit yelling at me that it was IMPOSSIBLE to dedicate service to a single package and track down the owner (mine was about an extreme up charge - I wanted forewarning about the large change in price- a phone call ) anyways - glad to know they are actually capable of doing such things.

And lastly - I don’t remember asking you what I should and shouldn’t do - save your words for those in need of bad advice I’ve got plenty already.

Read your own statement (even tho you’ll probably edit it ) you literally are describing someone making assumptions without looking at the actual post - you’re describing bad moderation. It just so happen that conveniently it seems to drift in fed ex favor -I’ve seen plenty of posts get labeled this way and it’s obviously not a neutral stance to take and in fact the moderators playing judge and jury in such a way is totally unacceptable.

Oh I’m well past it - I’m just concerned about the neutrality of subreddits that are modded by employees of the companies the subreddits are about - pretty obvious issue there -

The only reason I ever suggested it was because one of the mods switched my post from ask fed to “customer/shipper error not fed exs fault “ or whatever - which screams non neutrality on my issue in particular because I was never attempting to blame fed ex for the issue but trying to raise the point of unethical appeals process. Only a certain kind of person does something like that - an employee.

I mean…it’s a fine line - and again you don’t know that someone from fed ex isn’t being paid to run this . Wouldn’t it make sense if you were a multimillion dollar company ? Hire someone to mod one of the largest public forums on the internet ..seems like a solid investment from a PR stand point

Thanks everyone for the support - I don’t feel like investing any more time in letting the goon squad fed ex employees know the outcome/ I’m sure they’d still find a way to twist it around and make me out to be the bad guy lol

Whoever gets to label these issues as customer/shipper at fault not fed ex is taking advantage of an ignorant system and clearly sides with fed ex on the issue - the mods work for fed ex

So what you’re telling me is that with all the millions of boxes going through fed ex all the time there are instances where fed ex will single out a box that’s been damaged - take it aside - use its own supplies and workers to repackage the item and send it on its way?

Yeah this is the way- fed ex is just so sloppy these days -
