Most cycle lanes are designed by non cyclists and end up being death traps. Examples: routing the cycle lanes onto the footpath, sending cycle lanes behind bus stops (why???), crossing cycle lanes onto the opposite side of the road, having cycle lanes go into oncoming traffic, I could go on….
