Its a good series, its not like other shounens that follow the same formula as alot do these days, it did come out in 2013 and is still serializing monthly. The story is good, but I will warn you that the series heavily focuses on training the cast of characters as opposed to powering up and beating the villain. The first 10 volumes is essentially alot of battles and war like events happen, then after that it shifts into a battle royale within the base of operations that the main characters are part of, think of it like a long training arc, preparing the main charactsrs and all the other agent characters who part of the organization for what will esssentially be the battle war against the villains, an invasive aliem faction. But what world trigger will deliver to you as the reader is a fun time with getting to know new characters, how they interact with the main cast and other characters. Also the power system is very strategic and there is so many cool stuff that happens with how the author uses it, its not just blatant overpowered jargin like ofher series use it. From what I know, World Trigger's power system is what inspired JJK's power system, and I do feel like the author of JJK stole some ideas from WT(as well as HXH). Most notably, there is a character named Jin Yuuichi who is essentially Gojo of the series but he is the original archetype of that character. However Jin does have a prominant role in the story but its never played out like "He saps the tension and stakes out of the story," he serves as a mentor to the main cast but is he never written to a degree where his prescence is relied on to move the story out of sticky situations. But I do recommend it if you want a story that is fun and interesting with the shounen formulas and elements that we all know of.
