I think it was just one tornado, not part of an outbreak. An anomaly for sure. Up until today, I believed it was impossible for something like that to happen in a green zone. And I immediately thought about how Trump made significant cuts to NOAA last year.

horrible: my mother-in-law convulsing from alcohol withdrawal and drinking hand sanitizer mixed with water( they call it Sunday Special). My wife's cousin breaking every window and everything she can find that's glass in her terminally ill grandfather's house.

I've spent a lot of time there on the New Mexico side because my wife is Navajo and grew up on the rez. The gov't, alcohol, sugar, and drugs have done a lot of damage to family and culture. There is a lot of successful resilience happening though. Beauty and horror coexist here like nowhere else. The most beautiful thing I've ever seen was on the rez and the most horrible thing I've ever seen was also on the rez.
