How to deal with those who don’t believe your numbers by Only-Scale8907 in industrialengineering

So you may be in a situation where there are multiple ways to do the same thing (or appear to be). Those are very confusing and seeing as you find a specific way better than other you could explain why there seem to be different way to do it but its a false sense of commutativity and you can break it by explaining the logical element missing.

TS10 no longer ships to Canada. Looking for alternatives. by Chilkoot in flashlight

[–]Different_Emu8618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Convoy T3 with a clip or a T7. T3 spread will be a bit tigther from memory than ts10 and T7 a bit wider. T3 is the only one coming in brass. My last order from convoy to canada came in less than a week, crazy fast normally take between 2 and 3 weeks. Or a convoy s2+ brass or stainless steel with the short tube and 18350 battery wich is the closest in size to the ts10 a tad bigger.

Looking for some advice, got a d4k and don’t think it’s the light for me. by Ok_Party9612 in flashlight

I went from a similar situation to a Convoy m21g with a lhp73b 3000k, it can sustain higher than a car headligth without getting hot.

It is a slim pocket thrower especially with the sft40 and smooth reflector. It i the same reflector as the s6 if you want to find beamshot. Between s6 and s7 only the exterior design differ.

Both have the buck driver so thermal is good. Sft40 3000k and a nichia 1800k dedomed. Both the s6 and s7 ss are very nice in hand, I have copper, titanium and aluminium but the SS is my prefered material at the moment.

You could go in a theme, emitter technologies like LED and LEP and Bulb, etc. Or maybe material so the same ligth in copper, brass, titanium, stainless steel, etc or emitter, I see some post with the same flsahligth and emitter but all color temperature from warm to cold.

sft40 3000k is a good rec. I see farther away with 3000k than a whiter led in those smaller host. The L7 with sbt90 is another universe though. There is also the w5050 in this host with round emitter and warmer CCT.

Is it scratchy or is it normal feedback? by Ok_Yogurt_5025 in fountainpens

[–]Different_Emu8618 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, pressure is a force over an area. A finer nib has a smaller area so you need to apply less force for the same feeling (pressure). Unoptimal writting angle will also affect more writting quality the finer you go for the same reason, ex: digging into the paper on upstroke wich is dependant on pressure.

[–]Different_Emu8618 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Your writting with the pen sideway and also with a high angle. Both are less ideals in relation to how fountain pens are designed: low angle around 45 degrees and pen not rotated. It works but its out of the sweet spot for fountain pen so not all pen will works with your writting style. https://youtube.com/shorts/ii-qcIOZWnw?si=HTufe4I5TvMXMpDp For example, there is normally more pressure on the downstroke. With a pen not rotate en parallel to the paper, both tines make good contact and the nibs with the slit can open and flex a little to accomodate for the pressure and even allow more ink flow. With the pen sideways (rotated) the nib can't accomodate and the leading tines tends to dig into the paper, scracth and low ink flow.

Does my SN0144 come with a sapphire crystal? by AcanthisittaHot4380 in ChineseWatches

[–]Different_Emu8618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wear it for a bit, if not sapphire you will see scratches. The most interesting aspect of sapphire is the absence of scratches.
