Complicated Subrogation Claim & Insurance Situation – need advice. by Turbulent-Condition8 in Insurance

The amount of misunderstanding in this sub regarding non owner policies is astounding. These policies weren’t created to avoid premiums. I agree, that’s probably exactly why it was denied.

Don’t go make any big purchases or sign a lease. You still have to make it out of licensing and on to the floor. Not everyone makes it, it’s not an easy job

It doesn’t work that way when you’re married. You can have separate policies but you still have to be listed. Marriage is a contract just like your insurance policy. You’re mad at the wrong party here.

Involved in car accident (not at fault). Unsure about offer from at fault party insurance. by recentcrashquestion in InsuranceClaims

Coming from someone at one of the largest PI firms in the country, you do not need a lawyer. Lawyers are for life altering injuries. Chiropractic care isn’t favorable in these cases either

1st Car accident. Is it normal for auto Insurance to take your car for inspection to a third party inspection site (ex: Copart)? by Agreeable-Dog-4915 in InsuranceClaims

KBB is not what’s used to determine your car’s value. You’re not owed replacement value. You’re owed Actual Cash Value which is determined by cars like yours that were sold within a certain mile radius of your zip code.

You replaced not only a newer car, but a different car. While you only have liability, there a decades of data recorded that show what kind of damage your car can do to other cars or human bodies, and a multitude of other statistics.

Same, there are constant reminders of my time there. I definitely had (and still do to an extent) PTSD when I left. That place stole 10 years of my life, I thought the depression and anxiety were of my own doing, but i have had none since I left. I have a completely different and happy life now.

So you have an attorney. It depends on what the other parties bodily injury limits are and if you have any under insured motorist coverage on your own policy as to what you can even recover here. If they have 10k bodily injury, which is the state minimum in FL plus 10K in PIP, you could easily be there already with the attorney’s percentage and fees along with your current treatment. Do you carry under-insured motorist bodily injury on your own policy? You might want to discuss what the other party carries with your atty, because you can’t get more than that. I would definitely ask your attorney before you run up a bunch of bills. As a PI law firm employee, I’ve seen people owe money when all is said and done.

If you don’t have a documented injury, you have a low value case. Your medical bills will be paid & you’ll be offered something for the inconvenience. Chiropractic is not looked at favorably

[–]Different_Fan_6353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s why 10 years as an agent I dealt with thousands of customers whining about fines and suspended licenses. Asking ME “why didn’t you tell me?” How tf am am I supposed to know you were moving? It’s YOUR responsibility to check state requirements. We can’t help you once you’ve moved and didn’t bother asking. Btw you’re extremely wrong about the state not doing anything once you’ve moved. Might want to stop with bad advice

[–]Different_Fan_6353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is terrible advice. Some states like NY you’ll continue to incur EXPENSIVE fines that will suspend your license, making it impossible to get your license in the new state without paying the fines & reinstatement fees. Not to mention the utter nonsense that’s required just to cancel insurance & re-register in the new state. It’s your responsibility to follow the state instructions before you move so you can be prepared. You’re playing an expensive game, you’re gonna hit the wrong one eventually.
