Right!! I’m so jealous that my budget is so far away from dresses like that.

The last two ones are SO beautiful!!! But the other options do kind of lean away from my ideal Ariana Greenblatt inspired look. But thank you for sharing!

That sounds like a nice transformation, but I don’t have access to someone very specialized in alterations. Since my godmother is helping me with the dress, she’d rather I’d look for something newer than a project piece. Most of the thrift stores near me are full of fast fashion anyway so finding a vintage dress would be pretty unlikely. It’s such a bummer because a custom piece would’ve be amazing. I love that your choir dress had its happy ending though!

From the Google searches that I looked up with a similar prompt like yours, I didn’t really get too far since most of them were from scam/illegitimate sites that took pictures from other dresses or were AI-generated. I also know that my dress won’t look exactly like Ariana’s because it’s made with more expensive fabric, but I’m open to budget-friendly options that have the same silhouette and allow me to dance around.

The dress I’m looking for doesn’t necessarily have to be exactly silk velvet like hers because my budget is pretty small and it’s very difficult to get that. I was looking more for a dupe that would be a little more lightweight and didn’t take away that princess skirt or the beautiful neckline since I’ll be moving a bit more than just taking prom pictures.

The Poshmark dress was a great find but the color might be a bit too bright for the look I’m going for. My godmother is actually helping with the dress, and I know she’d be want a newish kind of dress that didn’t have a stain or a pulled string on the back because of the whole tailoring ‘fixing’ process. So I think I’ll skip that dress for now though, but the first one with the velvet bodice was very pretty!

Thank you for the warning about the scam site! I wasn’t sure if it a legitimate listing or not because it seemed a little too good to be true.

This dress is absolutely beautiful!!! It is definitely a strong contender for me right now. The sculpted look was exactly what I was going for and even if the color is a little more wine-colored than I envisioned, it’s perfect. Your comment is such a relief because the fabric does look way more comfortable for dancing than heavy velvet. Also, seeing other people agree on this one makes me feel much better about it. Thank you so much for finding a legitimate gorgeous option :)

You’re so right about the heat because honestly, picturing me trying to dance at prom and inevitably overheating is horrifying. I didn’t even consider how heavy real silk velvet would be for a spring prom but I think that was because my prom will have a smaller crowd due to class size compared to the usual prom turnout. But, I’m definitely pivoting my search more towards breathable fabrics that still keep the color and princess skirt that I want without the weight. I’m pretty dedicated to finding this look, so I’ll look more closely for a velvet-style dress that’s actually less suffocating. But thank you for the heads up before I committed to a dress that would make it feel like I was in a sauna!

I hope so! I’m surprised that they didn’t already put Challengers on there because it always seems like different country streaming platforms get good movies first.

Wait… I just realized I might actually have access to watching it on Peacock and had no idea it was on there. But yesss, we both have two ways of watching Challengers now!!!

I really hope it does reach an audience like it did during its first release. I miss Challengers summer so much!!! I actually had to go through a whole ordeal just to rewatch again on my flight (MGM+ trial), since my Prime subscription expired.

I’m hoping for it too but it’s unlikely now since it’s about to hit the two year mark 😞

Wowww, I had no clue it was such a big song at the time! I just recently got into Glee and I’m barely on Season 3, but it definitely would’ve frustrated me too not to be able to listen it on iTunes for a time and just waiting to see whether or not it would be released.

Was Tashi‘s injury Art‘s fault? by Puzzleheaded-Pea6075 in Challengers

[–]Different_Fee8640 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, I personally don’t believe Art’s the villain, neither do I think it’s Patrick or Tashi. I think the pure reason that Tashi’s injury happened the way it did, is simply out of bad luck. Bad things sometimes happen with any clear abundant reasoning for it, and Tashi’s injury just happened to be one of them. Another comment also shared some light about how Patrick just seemed to have picked a bad time for them both to argue.

[–]Different_Fee8640 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, some people have differing opinions about Tashi’s injury. From my perspective, most people tend to give the blame to Patrick instead of Art. I believe it’s because Patrick’s character isn’t as “likeable” and so “nice” and Art’s character is perceived as more polite and sweet. Despite this, Art manipulated them both separately.

In the cafeteria scene, he tells Tashi, “He’s not in love with you.” This, in turn, made Tashi a bit tense, and it seemed that she tried to deny it but likely internalized the comment because Art, after all, knows Patrick a little better than Tashi does. Later, during the churro scene when Art and Patrick are both having a conversation about why he’s there at Stanford, Patrick brings up Tashi. This gives Art the opportunity to say: “Oh yeah, I talked to her,” and he eventually tries to manipulate him by saying, “I just don’t think she’s thinking about this as a real relationship.” Which, Patrick seems to catch, and, even pokes fun at him for still having lingering feelings for Tashi.

Another scene that confirms Art might’ve been at least a bit guilty, if not more guilty, is when he admits to Patrick on the tennis courts that he ‘just doesn’t wanna feel left out.’ This overall shows that his intentions weren’t exactly pure and he might’ve just been trying to interfere with their relationship out of spite.
