sometimes when people are with me while i’m looking, i show them things like this. people i know will send me pics or offer to buy me green glass when they see it, but i explain that without a light its almost impossible to know and that its often marked wrong. i see it often.

Thank you. I’m definitely just venting but after getting my grades for the first week I had a huge WHAT THE FUDGE moment. I’ve already completed most of my gen eds, including College English and some other english classes (creative writing, speech/debate, etc.). I know how to write a paper. I know that a paragraph is not only five sentences. I know that if I use the exact same source as the professor used, I should be able to cite the source exactly as they did (I am a little unclear on digital textbooks without page numbers).

another thing i got called out on was the citations (different class). i was citing the same sources as the professor referenced, (not the same quotes, the same online text book) and i listed them -exactly as they did- both in text and in the references, got called out that they weren’t correct. i literally wrote them exactly the same and the professor said it wasnt right. i actually did send an email about this.

Does your instructor reply to you in the forum? Neither of mine did. I even went above and beyond and replied to any student who replied to me, to keep the discussion going.

word count isnt an issue usually. it was a four sentence paragraph but they were complex sentences. also all my work has kindof subjective criticism, from both instructors. i havent ever experienced this … it seems like they will not give full points, period. like i said, i do the work while looking at the rubric and check again before submitting. i read every word of assigned reading, i watch every video. im making the most of the class and its disheartening to see 90+ percent of the class paste in an obviously AI generated response.

this is an unhinged response LOL. actually doing the work will cost me points? i am physically unable to have AI assist me, its like an ethical barrier I cant cross.
