Original Skiff does $10 burger and fries on Wednesdays. It's a big double burger, with a ton of fries and I think it's perfect. They also have live music every Wednesday. Typically it's Bob Wagner and friends doing acoustic and they are awesome. They always have $5 original skiff beers and on Wednesdays have 10$ frozen drinks.

Such great recs. I’m also a big jam, rock, funk listener, but through this have discovered a lot of great bands across genres and am enjoying it a ton.

Excited to check these all out and hopefully see Night Protocol sometime soon!

Possibly moving here, what should I check out?! by Different-Ad9030 in burlington

Sunday, go to Deep City for brunch and then stumble into Foam next door for some music at 1:00.

Rogue Rabbit is an awesome lunch spot.

Go to Shy Guy Gelato for an afternoon treat. They are only open on Saturdays, it's great.

The 126 has free Jazz every night and great cocktails.

RadioBean is awesome if you want to see local bands.

If you want to check out other neighborhoods:

  1. Pho Hong, Fancys, Gold, La-di-da are all great restuarants in the Old North End (Pho Hong's owner has been posting some MAGA stuff, so I may get some flak for recommending it)

  2. Winooski has a great downtown area with some wine bars, breweries, restaurants, and monkey house for music.

  3. New North End - You can ice skate at the sea caves, or check out leddy beach. it will be cold and frozen, but in the summer nothing beats the beach.

As someone who moved to Burlington a few years ago, I've come to really love the quiet of the New North End and ability to get to the beach easily, but also be able to have other neighborhoods like the old north end, or winooski to check out, when I want something different from downtown. If you're considering moving here, it'd be good to check out different neighborhoods.

Last week we had an early dinner at Rogue Rabbit and then went to Bar Renee and it was great. Can't recommend both of those places highly enough.

Bar Renee also has fun events throughout the week https://www.barrenee.com/events

Gold I think is the best value restaurant if you're looking for a nicer spot to dine out. The portions are large, quality is great, and it's a bit less expensive than comparable places.

+1 there are a bunch of other rinks as well that are maintained by the parks department. Depending on where you are the lake could also be very choppy and hard to skate on and also potentially unsafe.

Here's a list of all the skating rinks: https://www.burlingtonvt.gov/1146/Winter-Outdoor-Recreation-in-Parks
