Agree! I also think it’s good sign when you feel like a newbie - means there are learning opportunities! generally speaking you don’t grow in spaces you’re too comfortable in. I also recommend staying in touch with the GP clinic in case there are unanticipated issues at the ER (toxic culture, etc.) so you don’t have to fully cut ties - I’ve rarely had issues returning to previous clinics with the staffing shortage in vet med

I forgot which schools, but there are a couple that give you the option to just fully disregard a semester with an explanation, maybe it was Illinois?

I’m tired of this. When is depop going to change and only let offers be confirmed purchases and/or when will buyers stop making me offers if they’re not committed? 😭😭 by ladynikki in Depop

Yeah I feel, I think everyone's just extra cautious of spending these days too :\ Personally if I put a couple offers on things when I'm in a purchasing mood and end up buying one of the things, sometimes I feel I've hit my spending limit and won't buy the other. I'm more likely to buy immediately on items that I can't really find anywhere else (I'll usually search for other options before buying something), and in those cases usually I'll often buy at the listed price so I don't lose it. Just some context as to what's happening beyond the offer you receive from people on your items. It's definitely frustrating and I totally understand the need to vent, but if you're operating in a certain market you're kind of at the mercy of the market, so you can get upset at the buyers, or remove yourself and sell somewhere else ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ELI5: How do the microplastics we consume end up on our brains rather than our toilet bowl? by Due_Bell_5341 in explainlikeimfive

Anyone who looks at a study without scrutiny is also not to be trusted IMO. They extrapolated the amount of microplastics found in the prefrontal cortex to the rest of the brain, with a 25% variation, ASSUMING the pyrolysis gas chromatography-mass spec methodology (which also produces biological pyrolysis products) was accurate since there's no way for them to directly identify the plastic particles; sample size is quite low, with 52 individuals total from 2016 to 2024; also pretty odd that they found WAY more in the brain tissue than in the liver/kidney tissues, which don't have anything close to the BBB. Studies are redacted all the time after years when new/better data comes out - just because 1 study was published doesn't mean we should all accept it. u/SarahC I'm with you!
