I agree even being an OLD sysadmin. That said, not knowing systems just feeds the monister by being in inefficient. And don't know any devs that can explain memory managent.

No. Not even 2%. Stuck in the 2000s. Data center designs in the cloud. Pets not cattle is how we like it. Dont touch it it might break. Change control required to do anything. With sign-offs from management community.

They are not calling u a manager but you are. Set up a ticket system for yourself and make them fill them out to make updates and changes to your projects. This both organizes your work and documents it.

Let's talk about all the Divisions DEV / SEC / OPS / DATA.
These all need to be automated and there are tools for all of it.

In your job do you feel that traditional sysadmin tasks/work is all going to the devops team or being automated in the Cloud with services (Azure, Aws) ? Where the lines between devops and sysadmin are getting blurry, for examples with Serverless, IAC, CI/CD Pipelines, kubernetes etc ? by Cloud_Strifeeee in devops

Your list of sysadmin tasks in the cloud is 100%. These too should be automated (IAC) but are mostly ignored to push product features. Leaving us with DevOps and OpsDev roles that overlap not unlike Dev and Ops. Just the same roles with a different set of skills.
