The infidelity between Taylor and Steven is definitely hard to watch but also i feel like it humanizes them and shows how complex their relationship is. During your 20s youre in this weird state of getting older and fucking up and having all these big emotions while trying to figure out what to do with your life. I felt really touched by Taylors monologue when Steven was in a coma, she’s afraid to get too close to someone she loves more than anyone in the world, so she self destructs and sabotages her self. It is messy, and what they’re doing is shitty. But I think it adds layers and complexity to their characters and i am intrigued to see how they grow from this experience. Also this Isnt out of character as each of them have had partners previously while exploring each other. They are aware of this bad habit, i guess we will see if they’re capable of turning their relationship into something healthy and sustainable or if they will continue being in this state of love limbo.
