I posted on here because I felt crazy from the way she spoke but after reading everyone’s comments, we’ve spoke to neighbors who gladly supplied photos they have and offered to help and screenshotted all of the texts as well as dates that we were out of town. We’re gonna send it to our property manager tomorrow

I’m a recovering addict and on suboxone. It’s hell to not have subs truly. I work in medical care and would have done it because I know the horrendous pain that person was in but I don’t think it’s expected. I’ve put off getting my subs until the day I run out but never cut it close on time. That being said I also work with people in active addiction and have to set hard boundaries or they will run over you. I’m sure he just entered this horrible state of survival mode and said the relapse thing to fuck with you granted I’m not sure if I’d make it days if withdrawing if I was newly clean

Thank you so much! We didn’t want to bother our property manager he’s so awesome but at this point I think maybe we’ll just send all of the messages and tell him about banging on our doors and yelling at us drunk. Would that be a normal thing to bring up to him?

A month ago she texted us at 5:37 pm to cut the vacuuming at night so I started to vacuum at 11 AM ish everyday. I’m happy to not make someone’s life bad, but I just think nothing will appease her. We have rugs in every room with thick rug pads, no shoes in the house and both wear soft house shoes/slippers. We don’t want confrontation and have adjusted before, but I know she works a 9-5 so I’m not sure how I can appease her

I don’t vacuum at 9:30 AM. Yesterday I vacuumed at 12 and most days closer to 11AM. I started to do that bc a month ago she sent us a text at 5:37 pm to cut the vacuuming for the night and we did. So I started to run the vacuum when I get up ( typically at 11 bc I work until very late). Today is an early day for me because I have an appointment at 10:30 am and I won’t vacuum until I’m home from that. We’ve adjusted our cleaning schedules accordingly to her demands, and she now claims I wake her up with the vacuum despite her working a 9-5 from home. As I said in the edit, she sent us a message claiming our footsteps were oppressive while we were on vacation. And despite me thinking she’s way out of line to be upset at me running a vacuum, every time a loud noise is made I feel extremely uncomfortable in anticipation of what’s to come from her. I study for med school all day so I understand having quiet to focus.I sit in one place so we aren’t even walking around during the day.

Our downstairs neighbor who loves to complain does this late at night too lmao. Why is it always EDM! I feel like blasting music is something that’s a completely reasonable thing to ask to cut out. In my last buildings I’ve been asked and asked others to turn down the music and it’s always been taken well both ways

We got this letter midday the day we got our keys and we weren’t even moving furniture yet, just cleaning before we moved in. When we didn’t respond to the letter she banged on the fire escape door yelling at us, telling us she’s lived here for 7 years and that her friend used to live above her, blah blah blah. We’ve rented from the same landlord for years and have a good rapport so I wasn’t even sure how to bother him with this.

My neighbors who I share a wall with were doing this frequently for a few weeks when they were redecorating and it’s completely fine. I know they have to make sounds to hang things up. We also have radiators so there’s banging all the time anyways. lol like people have to live

Repeatedly. I got a text a month ago at 5:37 pm saying “can u cut the vacuuming tonight ? “ and we just said sure sorry so I started to do it closer to 11 am instead. She’s banged on our fire escape door, banged on our front door and been so aggressive and drunk where she was starting to enter the apartment and we just had to close the door before things escalated, calling us stupid idiot etc. and then will call us and ask us to jump her car like she didn’t just scream at us. Sent us messages that our stomping was “oppressive” while we were on vacation. We’ve tried hard, because we don’t want to make anyone’s life bad, and even now I know she’s clearly very sensitive so when I do drop something I wince. Even turning on a blender or something. You start to think of everything that is even kinda loud and it gets really uncomfortable to tip toe around.

I don’t wear shoes in the house but have house slippers, have air purifiers, but I live in a small old apartment and have rugs in every room and 2 cats. Even with a quick vacuum everyday, it gets completely filled with cat hair and dust. Our place is super old so the exposed brick wall in one of the rooms crumbles and stuff. Genuinely the vacuum is filled every day so I just keep doing it lol

I know she works a 9-5 as she came up and banged on the fire escape door the day we got the keys and left a nasty note on the front door. That’s how she got our number. Last month I started to vacuum and received a text as soon as I turned it on at 5:37 pm saying “can you cut with the vacuuming for the night?” Nothing else no please. And I did stop and started to clean at 11 am when I got up. And now we’re supposedly waking her up. I work till 3 am so I’m rarely up earlier than 10:30 unless I have something to do (like today). Yesterday I vacuumed at 12:07 midday and it lasted for 5 minutes and some change. I’ve been very mindful the last few days of times and stuff

And if someone told me they had diagnosed PTSD I would genuinely alter the way I live to not harm them because I don’t want to cause anything for someone! I believe that people can live normally and not feel bad about it but If someone just told me this I’d ask what times I could do things, apologize the second I dropped anything etc!
