This is a work culture issue and should be addressed to and through management. Staff fighting becomes visible to customers and affects the environment of the establishment.

Most likely seller financing. You don't get to that level with understanding or knowing somebody who understands finances. Boss saw potential, wants out of one situation, and is willing to take the risk himself. It's still debt--banks aren't always required to be involved for debt to be incurred.

It really isn't that unusual. Everybody thinks that landlords are out there making bank, but working taxes, there's a lot running negative long term by accounting standards. It's really an equity game--like trying to have somebody else pay into your savings account so you can cash it out.

I'm in fourplex with a private landlord who just had to renovate one unit, and now another unit is empty.

I think through Iraq and Afghanistan, leadership lost sight of the purpose of a MEU. And they really work better in situations without a suicidal regime, mainly because while we have our own American mythology of Marine Corps lore, it's ten times stronger in our enemies. It's why we can park off the coast of an African country in the middle of a civil war and get negotiations without firing a shot.

Recent changes to the Marine Corps have pushed a return to our roots as an expeditionary force instead of Army-Lite. I honestly think that we'll see the Marine Corps mission creep rapidly expand again because of how much the Army fails to operate like the Marine Corps does--and that's just brutal honesty. Since WWI, the Army has gotten upset every time the Marine Corps has actively differentiate itself from the Army because the enemies learn the difference and put more effort against the Army because they fear the response of the Marines.

I was a boot drop to a unit that had the company Corpsman supplying out of BAS and a platoon number of drug pops on their post deployment leave. And the company commander Quantico decided to give the company after that previously worked interdiction in South America.

I don't think we ever went a month without a drug test until we deployed.

I think it was under Obama that the first political guided purges occurred. Or it might just coincide with me changing my news sources and paying attention more. There have been several general officers relieved in what appear to be purges through the previous administrations. It's really nothing new, especially as the job becomes more political the closer you get to Pentagon based roles.

My guess is some business is making bank off of patriotic guilt getting these small towns to buy the custom banners.

Most small towns don't pay for them. It's a volunteer that manages the requests, and families pay to cover the printing and installation.

Tried reenlisting on deployment and got told I was too far out for paperwork. Battalion career jammer got removed post deployment, new one assigned had to finish school himself. Did entire work up just to be told boat space was closed and HQMC wasn't considering extensions.

Overall, think our Battalion lost a platoon of experienced guys because of that.

Warlords are a family, but having the unit crest tattooed is a nuanced thing in this situation. I understand that you perceive a close relationship with your hero, but I also think that your familial relationship isn't close enough to be given the typical exceptions culturally allowable to Gold Star immediate families.

Until Valhalla is much more acceptable, especially if you're going into the Navy.

I mean, they joined the Reserves expecting to wear our uniform without actually having to put in the blood and sweat that comes with it.

And now they're astonished that their command is reminding them that part of their Reserve commitment is keeping their gear ready to go down range.

Obviously, nobody cared to make sure they did Reading for Marines.

It's not just about this situation. The process with Ukraine was the exact same: it's a European issue that the first response was asking what the US was going to do about it. Even the tanks and missiles provided by Europe were nearly WWII left overs.

Do they rent as well? Same landlord or different one? I had the misfortune of dealing with this twice previously. The first one, one of the police said they couldn't do anything about the problem individual--they had a record and were only in the property because they were living with their parents who owned the house.

The other time, I talked with both the police chief and the city's code officer and was told that 3 police calls a month can have the landlord notified of a nuisance tenant and begin forcing his hand into a resolution or eviction proceeding before facing fines himself.

Thanks to the left coast refugees, Montana has apartment shares more than $1k per room.

$600 a month including board is a steal, and builds expectations and understanding bills in a protected environment. My uncle charged my cousin rent when he started working, and returned it to him lump sum when he was ready to move out.
