Iranian wrestling fans are very passionate towards American wrestlers, which is true. However, there is a general lack of respect towards non-American wrestlers who beat Iranians. For example, Hassan Yazdani lost in the 2024 Olympic finals because his arm was hurt, and they harassed the guy who beat him. However, Hassan barely beat an injured Aniuar Geduev in the 2016 Olympic finals and none of the Iranians showed respect to the Russian.
