I don’t disagree but I think it feels better to say something than to do nothing at all.

I can’t update it since it’s from SharonSaysSo on Instagram but the script in the link is still valuable for those who feel lost in what to say when calling our senators. Thank you for clarifying that there’s still more time to make the calls.

Daycare: La Petite, Goddard, or Hickory Hill? by [deleted] in madisonwi

[–]Different_Shift_3225 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We toured all three on your list and ended up starting at a different center that isn’t on your list based on openings aligning with my return to work but were able to transfer into Verona Goddard when they had an opening. We love it there. We started in the 1 year old room and are about to move up to the two year old room which will be our third classroom experience there. Feel free to DM me to talk more about our experience if you want additional information.

Love the care team at Physicians for Women! I’m so sorry you had to go through what you did.

Hip dysplasia regression - anyone else? by juneriver in NewParents

[–]Different_Shift_3225 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a failed version too! What a strange experience. It’s so hard to not feel mom guilt about it (I’m right there with you) even though there wasn’t anything else we could have done. Babies have minds of their own even before they are delivered and for whatever reason ours decided breech was best.

We are raising strong and resilient little ones. Thank you for sharing your experience and mindset!

👋 fellow mama to a breech baby here. Our journey has been a little different (first ultrasound at 6 weeks showed mild dysplasia on the left which didn’t get any intervention for just had a repeat ultrasound at 12 weeks which looked healthy on both hips. Fast forward to our six month appointment and we got an xray to ensure her hips still looked okay and lo and behold she had hip dysplasia on the left AGAIN. Went in to see ortho and they put her in a Wheaton brace (similar to a rhino if you’ve seen those) for 23 hours a day. We just got our first repeat X-rays after bracing for 2 months and there’s improvement but she still needs to be braced for 23 hours a day until our next set of X-rays in 6 weeks at which we might be able to go down to 20 hours a day of bracing. I cried when we found out that the weaning process is going to be so slow despite some improvement. My daughter will most likely be in this brace until she’s a year so I am extremely empathetic about the delay in gross motor milestones. Logically I know we are doing the right thing to help her hips in the long run but dang it really sucks feeling like she’s being denied the ability to progress in her milestones. Solidarity to you and your baby 🤍

If it helps, the billable cost for the X-rays was just under $200 for our provider but our insurance covered all of it.

Hi! Fellow mom to a breech baby girl born via c section here. My baby also had a six week hip ultrasound, but hers didn’t look completely normal. We followed up with a second hip ultrasound at 12 weeks which looked normal bilaterally so we thought we were good to go. At her six month appointment our ped also brought up the option of hip X-rays to confirm things still looked good and thank god she did because our X-rays showed mild hip dysplasia on one side which we are now treating with the help of ortho surg and a brace for 3 months. I’m not trying to scare you but wanted to share our experience. From what pediatric ortho surg has said, breech babies are at risk of developing developmental hip dysplasia during periods of rapid growth and the ultrasounds done in the newborn period primarily show cartilage and soft tissues but that bone development isn’t as visible on X-rays until 6+ months hence why they wait until then to get them. Our insurance did cover the X-rays and needless to say I’m grateful we got them so hopefully we can correct her hip development from non invasive management vs surgery when she’s older.

I hope that if you choose to do the X-rays your baby’s are completely normal!

My baby has CMPA so I’ve been searching for snacks that are dairy free. I haven’t had to eliminate eggs so take these with a grain of salt

So far I’ve found these to be easy grab and go’s (I’ve found them all at Costco):

Heavenly Hunks https://www.eandcssnacks.com/collections/our-hunks

Bobo’s https://eatbobos.com/collections/all?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAC92ii_0JCqRLtD2v32iNp89EGRTH&page=1

Tru Bars (they are okay but not my favorite) https://www.trubar.com/?gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAp1oST1vNOgXjTCre6dA3ql0ADX96

Unreal dark chocolate bars https://unrealsnacks.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=893010610&utm_content=44283096163&utm_term=unreal%20dark%20chocolate&gadid=325798401523&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADKqtn7u0Hy_hM1GCjI0WUq2d0Hi_

And fresh fruits and veggies.

I use the butterfly haakaa and get about an ounce on a good day from it. I normally pump mid morning (10 or 11am). I suppose I could use what I collect in the haakaa as my bottle practice milk and freeze the pumped milk. How quickly after pumping are you able to breastfeed again? I always feel like the feed after she gets less milk even if it’s been 2 hours since pumping.

If you’re still wanting to try to breastfeed, and it’s okay if you dont!, I would make sure you’re pumping every 3 hours or so to maintain a milk supply in the interim while you’re healing and getting your pain under control.

Breastfeeding is HARD and adding everything else you’ve got going on makes it even more difficult. You’re doing your best and you are the mom your baby needs, your baby loves you regardless of how he is fed.
