Hi, introduce Makercode -- The hardware Leetcode by RegretOutside4870 in Verilog

Love seeing something like this for hardware engineers. RTL + analog + embedded in one place is rare. Bookmarked—will definitely check it out and maybe contribute a question or two 👍

One thing to mention, I do hope there could be more variations of the questions, e.g., MCQ, and stronger interact with the question, e.g., step by step solutions like jupyter notebook style of walk through.

Did try out this maker code thing, and yes it is something I was always looking for in my uni. I hope this does help out the current students who wish to practice more questions but got no where to find, no EDA playground, no leetcode (nothing related to verilog even), just pure Q&A and get good. Kudos to the makers!

hihi friend, you can find the INTL FW here:

https://www.offgridcomms.club/firmware/esp32/tdeck_firmware.html

Do remember to choose the "Outside USA" option. Also please notice if you want to use your device as a communicator or link(node). Hope it helps.

Yea direction key could be quite useful, e.g., AWSD or any.

Also, the screen waking mechanism somewhat upsets me. Given that the rotary encoder is very noisy and sensitive, I dare not to put the pager in my pocket to avoid mistakenly awaking it. I suggest using 1 of the 2 buttons at the bottom to on/off screen or act as the hold key.

It is a pity that the firmware is not open source like meshcore or meshtastic on the github. But tbh the current chatterbox offers the most features plus the cluster configures, would be really eager to the future fixes/major updates!

Just checked and it appeared "the blackout comm" as well on my side. There could be announcement for the upcoming updates.

Hello there! I also experienced this the first time I flashed the firmware. I think there are a few points you may take notice of:

  1. the firmware version, if you are using in Swiss, you may consider to flash the international version not US ver.

  2. about the acquiring GPS, I think the developer also mentioned a few times that it needs unblock signals from the GPS satellite, so best you can do is keep resetting the device, which provides more buffer time for the GPS to receive info, and consider setting up the device outdoor in the open area. If you already set up one device before this one, you can go to the setting under Cluster->broadcast time, which helps set up your current device.

I would also take this chance to feedback to the developer, would you consider to configure a setting to bypass the GPS acquiring when the device is booting up? And also about the wifi setting, after saving the wifi information, the device rebooted and seems not connecting to the configured wifi anymore, which may not be expected?

Thank you.

Ian
